Derrick Brown, rated lower then both those players coming out of high school. Tearing it up in the Daveros league, much to the pleasure of X fans. Tearing it up against UD, again much to the pleasure of X fans. Then Actually GOT DRAFTED in the NBA where he is full time NBA player and contributor, not a perennial bench warmer who couldn't seem to stay on an NBA roster long without getting dumped to the D league nor get any meaningful minutes in meaningful games when he actually was on that NBA roster. Lets really not try to compare your NBA player to our NBA Players, This is discussion about summer leagues that are meant to be more fun the constructive.

Maybe Chris should have played in the DSL. It resembles the NBA game far more than the cryer's offense. Still trying to figure out where CW improved from year to year? Player Chris Wright 09/10 10/11 08/09 GP 37 36 35 MIN 28.6 28.8 26.1 PPG 13.7 13.2 13.3 RPG 7.3 8.4 6.6 APG 1.2 1.8 .9 SPG 1.0 .8 .9 BPG 1.4 1.4 1.3 TPG 2.4 2.8 2.4 FG% .501 .459 .478 FT% .676 .600 .676 3P% .211 .227 .250 Looking to find that "great improvement" Squid is talking about. Maybe that improvement came in the realization that he couldn't shoot very well outside. His 3pt.attempts went way down from his soph year. Solid points though Squid. Solid points. I think Xavier should send all their players to the "Dayton Summer Improvement" program. The difference is remarkable.

Re: 2012 Summer Leagues
GW and other DC area players will be participating in the Kenner League at Georgetown's Mcdonough Arena. The schedule MAY be available before games start, the rosters will only be available if you start asking people sitting around you if they know who the players are and the hot dogs will taste like lukewarm rubber.
You'll also probably see some NBA players making guest appearances and a few stretches of fantastic summer hoops. |

The SBU team will be playing in the Hinsdale rec league, along with players from Pitt Brad, Alfred State and Olean Business Institute. It should be some high level competition.

Kenner is always fun. Lots of grown Maryland and gw guys as well as Beasley,Lawson and other nba guys. If it wasn't for the Olympics I'd say there'd be a chance durant would make an appearance.

Re: 2012 Summer Leagues
Deveroes is a joke. If you've ever been, you know. It's just not quality basketball. It's a rural Missouri meth whore hooker version of the NBA all star game played at Woodward High. I know of several UD players from the 90s and early 2000s who went down looking to play against X, UC, and other D1 players, but because so few people show up, they ended up playing against NKU kids and local, out of shape grads who never sniffed Europe, let alone the NBA.
James Cripe is averaging 21 per game this year in Deveroes. JAMES CRIPE. James Cripe would struggle to average 10 points on a GCL JV team. But yeah, D1 kids are getting a ton out of it. Things would be different if everyone showed up to every game but half the rosters show up about half the time until the week long tourney. Driving down not knowing who you are playing against is just not something people wanted to do, especially with every player taking summer classes now. And now with having three 40 minute practices per week all summer, there's no need to be playing anywhere off campus. Plus, UD always has high caliber pickup games with current recruits on unofficials, local sure D1 high school talent and many current pros in Europe who come to help stay in game shape over their breaks.

Deveroes is for fun. If guys want to show up and have fun, great. We all have hobbies, which is what Deveroes is, essentially. No one should ever, ever think it's beneficial to a current D1 player in terms of being a D1 player. If all goes well it's net neutral. There are great summer leagues, especially in LA, NYC and Philly. Deveroes is not one of them.

Pool 68, Deer Park 62 – Sunday, June 17, 2012 – 12:00 PM James Farr: 11 points and 16 rebounds in 23 minutes. Jalen Reynolds: 10 points (5-15 FGs) and 8 rebounds in 17 minutes. 5’-9” Carl Richburg – a career bench jockey for the Miami Redhawks from 2006 to 2009 and a horrible shooter – led Deer Park in scoring with 18 points. Did not show up for the game: Deer Park: Matt Stainbrook, Myles Davis, Dez Wells. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Muddy’s Observations (1) PG Semaj Christon isn’t having much luck shooting the ball. (2) Neither is PG Dee Davis, who has not yet shown up for any of his team's games. (3) The only Deveroes team with 5 Muskies on the Roster is Deer Park (0-2). (4) This is going to be a fun thread this summer. Thank you DukesDan.

Re: 2012 Summer Leagues
Muddie can you regale us again with your bashing of Jordan Crawford and his DSL appearances. You seemed sure that "the other" Jordan Crawford that went to Bowling Green was better. How'd that work out for you? Why in the world would someone bother to look up stats of a summer league game that they already said the league was garbage and a waste? Why would they waste the time knowing there we no cryer players involved? Why would anyone bother to post stats of a rivals team? Could it be obsessive ignorance? Are they curious to find out form the beat down is coming in next year? I guess it's kinda like Ghostbusters. "Choose your distructor"
Better yet, maybe you can stalk the cryer players during their individual workouts with the cryer coaches. Post some links to how JB is WAY ahead of schedule and ready to dominate on 1 leg. I'm also curious to see how the new crop of cryer players did in their high school careers.
