Re: 2012 NBA Draft
Double digits for CJ. Nice to see him do so well in his second game. With a 10-day contract, it's critical to perform well immediately because there isn't much time to prove yourself.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft
Brian Conklin from SLU just signed with the Southland Sharks, a professional team in New Zeland.
Also Kevin Lisch, another SLU grad, just made news with this sick crossover and 3 in Australia. Lisch has won the MVP 2 of the last 3 years and has established himself as the highest paid player in the league. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn3RP0w6C9A |

Re: 2012 NBA Draft
CJ did exactly what a guy on a 10 day contract needs to do, come in off the bench and spark the team. Memphis was stagnant until CJ buried back to back threes. He also had a tough rebound and an assist in that run. He looked like he belongs, but it's a business. I really, really hope he sticks. I think having John Hollinger in Memphis now could help him. A pure numbers/salary guy like that having influence on roster moves could keep them from being reactionary and picking up a washed up veteran to fill his role. We shall see. Hopefully they give him a second 10 day contract.
Mike Conley sprained an ankle early in the game. If he's out for any length of time, that could hurt CJ's chances depending on what the front office would want to do. Roberts had a nice step back three and even torched CJ for a layup inside. He's doing well. On that team he's almost assured of lasting the whole season. Very cool to see two UD players in the same NBA game. Hope it happens more often in the coming years.

Not there yet: Chris Wright. Maine Red Claws 120, Springfield Armor 112 (NBA DL Box Score and Video Highlights - Jan. 27, 2013) Chris Wright: 25 points (10-20 FGs, 5-6 FTs) and 20 rebounds (10 offensive & 10 defensive) - a new Red Claws' team record. Someone, somewhere is getting paid to notice these things. Great game for Wright, whose many slam dunks are featured in the 2-minute Video Highlights. Chris Wright is # 33 in Maine's green camouflage uniforms.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft
Lavoy Allen with the best game of his NBA career. 14 points, 22 rebounds, 3 assists. 11 offensive rebounds were the second most in the NBA this season behind Anderson Varejao's 12.
