It has to be absolutely killing a certain banned member that he can't post a bandwidth choking screed gloating about the fact that Tu Holloway didn't get drafted. I'm sure he'll have something to say about it once he returns.

Holloway might be able to pick up a job via free agency, but if not, I have no doubt he'll make some big $$$ in Europe. Still not a bad deal for playing a kids game.

Congrats to Andrew Nicholson. It will be interesting to see how he does in the big leagues.

Someone on the FU board pointed out that Scott Machado of Iona did not get drafted either and he was seen as a first-rounder on some mock drafts. I had forgotten about him, perhaps due to waiting to see if Holloway got drafted.

Are second rounders guaranteed anything? I know they are not guaranteed a spot, but I don't know if they get some money and whether that money, albeit minor, factors into the salary cap. Tons of foreigners taken in the 2nd round, many of whom will not see the NBA for a few years, so they don't factor into the salary cap at all.

Some say that being a free-agent is better than getting drafted in the 2nd round b/c you get to try out for a few different teams and perhaps find a place that you are more likely to make the roster, whereas if you get drafted 2nd round you get a guaranteed tryout, but it might not be the best fit for you. That might be spin more than truth though, I'm not sure.

Second round picks (and undrafted FAs) aren't guaranteed any money, unless they sign a guaranteed deal, which only a select few get. The overwhelming majority that do make a roster get rookie minimum deals that are non-guaranteed.

Chad Ford's top 100 for next year's draft....

Only CJ Aiken makes the list from the A10, and it's in the 60's as a second round/undrafted prospect.

Aaric Murray appears as well, in the 80's.

College Hoops

The NBA draft is where I put my school interests on hold, hoping that a couple of guys from A-10 schools get the call, just because I think its a positive reflection on the conference. Hopefully some sign as free agents and make a team. If they do, they've got show improvement as the season goes on because there is going to be a fresh batch of players next year.

Speaking of disappointment what about WVU's Kevin Jones? Supposedly he was told by a team drafting toward the later part of the first round if he was still on the board they would take him. Didn't happen for him in either round.

Muddy, no clue, but one was A10 POY, the other an honorable mention guy. Now, I don't think the thuggery comments from Tu hurt him too bad but I don't think Tu will ever play in the NBA because of his size. Very very hard for a 5'11" PG to stick in the league.

People one day will realize the difference between the NBA and college basketball. In all honesty, ask yourself, who was the better college basketball player, Tu or Nicholson? Really, stat and team success wise, Tu was. But the versatility of a Nicholson gets him picked in the Top 20 while Tu is locked in to one single position.

It's also why no matter what type of senior year Dillard has, even leading UD to an E8, he won't get drafted. He could avg 20 and 7 this year and I just don't see an NBA GM taking a chance on a 6'0" 180 lb PG.

Smallish guards have a huge uphill battle to the NBA. I was looking back and saw that Pullen didn't get drafted, and he was a very impressive college guard in my opinion. Size is a huge concern in the NBA.

I agree and was on record as saying neither would get picked. I would be looking for 6'3', 6'4' guards myself. The Jameer Nelson's of the world are few. John Jenkins, different story.
