Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
LOL, Muddy.. I actually read one of your lengthy posts. You are aware Dru Joyce is a high school basketball coach. But, INDEED, that one HS coaches opinion is indicative of NCAA men's basketball coaches.
That one is too easy Muddy. The stuff you post is crap (and I didn't even read your other 2 novels on the last page... too long).

I read "Muddy" and and hit the scroll bar. Guy has some serious... issues to spend an entire day googling nonsense about X.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
Xavier University loves to brag about their succession of Top 25 Recruiting Classes. But one of the reasons for that impressive succession is the double-counting of highly-ranked prospects who failed to qualify academically at Xavier. To wit: 4-Star PF Jalen Reynolds (Rivals profile) Xavier Men's Basketball Signs Three Standouts (Xavier University - November 10, 2010) CINCINNATI --- Xavier University head coach Chris Mack announced today that he has received signed National Letters of Intent from three prep standouts: Darwin "Dee" Davis, a 5-11, 150-pound point guard from Bloomington (Ind.) South High School, Jalen Reynolds, a 6-9, 215-pound forward from Livonia (Mich.) Stevenson High School and Dezmine Wells, a 6-4, 220-pound guard/forward from Hargrave Military Academy (Va.). Xavier Announces The Signing Of Four High School Standouts (Xavier University - November 9, 2011)
Then, there's this: Quote:

Those results would be reaching the Sweet 16 or Elite 8, 4 out of the past 5 years. There are only 3 other schools in the nation who can claim that... Michigan St, Kansas and North Carolina. Further, due to the Top 25 recruiting classes, X has reached 11 out of the last 12 NCAA tournaments. Only 11 other schools in the nation can say that. Further, X has won the A-10 regular season championship 5 out of the last 6 years. Those Top 25 recruiting classes have also aided X in securing a Nike Elite contract (the highest contract a school can obtain without winning a national championship) and having every single game televised, about half nationally. Those things (the results of Xavier's Top 25 recruiting classes) are what Xavier fans like to "brag" about, not simply the arbitrary ranking of our recruiting classes. Thank you Muddy for allowing me the opportunity to "brag" further.

(1) Just out of curiosity, when is Xavier's Nike Elite contract up for renewal ? There could be some bumps in the road ahead. (2) If your entire post will fit into your signature line, it will save you a hell of a lot of typing this season.

Phil Knight has actually kept every letter Muddie has sent to him in a "special" file labeled "delusional fan letters". He pulls them out when he needs a good laugh. He especially loved the one that tried to reason that since the Cryers won the NIT a few years ago that it should count because Xavier was cheating by recruiting "questionable" character athletes and if Xavier was forced to stop this practice the cryers would have beaten them in Cincinnati long ago. Tears were building in Phil's eyes when he read Muddie imploring him to reconsider. The one sent just a few weeks ago may be his best though. Muddie demanded that Nike pull their sponsorship of Xavier athletics based on the "national" perception that Xavier is rudderless and houses only the criminal element. Muddie actually printed out EVERY article that mentioned Xavier and warned Phil that the stigma of being associated with Xavier will have dire consequences in the near future.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
^Is this for real? I'm guessing it's a joke, but it is honestly something Muddy would do.
I would not be surprised if Muddy actually sent multiple, lengthy letters to Nike headquarters imploring them to stop their Elite contract with Xavier.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
I hear that freshmen Myles and Reynolds won't be eligible for this season, with Reynolds case under appeal.
If this turns out to be true, and Muddy's suspicions about Cantino not being elgible are true, wouldn't that leave X with 7 non-walk-on players on the roster? That would be insane. It would be hard to even practice with that number of scholarship players.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
I have heard Cantino will never suit up for Xavier. Heard it from someone close to team.

Nothing official but if I were a betting man, my money would be on both kids not playing this season given what I am hearing.
