Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
Can't wait till season. A whole new team with an absurd amount of potential. Semaj looks otherworldly. Dez is going bull. Our front court will be diverse though most of them need to gain some muscle. Based on Pure talent, im not sure any other team can compare. But since they are young its going to be tough to compete with the established veteran teams like JOES, SLU, VCU Butler and probably UMASS to. Outside of them I think we will more then hold our own against. Elite talent and top coaching does that for you.

As good as Wells is, and although I'm skeptical of the hype I think Christon will be good, the key for Xavier will be Philmore, Taylor, and Martin. If they don't produce, Xavier's rotation will be thrown into chaos.

Kevin Dillard was an excellent basketball player at Southern Illinois, and he continues to be an excellent basketball player at Dayton. Kevin Dillard’s Play Catches Eye of NBA Scouts (Doug Harris, DDN - July 15, 2012) Kevin Dillard Travis Taylor's stats took a nosedive after he tranferred "up" to Xavier, and it's too early to tell how things will go for Isaiah Philmore. In any event, it's unlikely that any NBA scouts have ever heard of Travis Taylor or Isaiah Philmore.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
I remember CJ Anderson, a Manhatten transfer, LAUGHING in London Warren's face as the seconds ticked down in yet another X beating of UD. This was as Derrick Brown held the ball just out of his reach grinning and yelling, YOU CAN'T HAVE IT, YOU CAN'T HAVE IT, IT's OVER YOU LITTLE B****. ESPN2 BTW.
BLOBSTER, You can't count Dillard. The conversation was about transferring from a LESSER school. Doesn't exactly apply in his case. When he got to SIU they were still considered a Power non big 6 program, and the A10 was only marginally better thanks to X, Richmond, and Temple at that time. |

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
Taylor and Phimore will play in front of many NBA scouts this year. The scouts will be coming for Wells and Christon but each will have their opportunity to impress. Heck, UD's BWS XVIII may even get a chance to be noticed. It will be as "traffic cone" No.2 but it's all good.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
Exactly, Dillard's move was actually a step down in programs going from Southern Illinois to Dayton with regards to national recognition, respect, exposure etc. And of course, success. 6 NCAA appearances in last 11 years including 2 Sweet 16's. What is Dayton's? Like 2 or 3 appearances in 11 years with only a single win?
