Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
Xavier has one real rival...the University of Cincinnati.
And they're afraid to play us at their house.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
Can you really be a rival if you can't win at X?
Not this year Butler. Double figures last year too. I love having Butler in the league, but they will be at best Xavier's third or fourth biggest game year in and year out.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
Don't forget he can't recruit either.
So Xavier has just come off a 40+ point win in which they scored 117 points (with both teams being at half-strength) and then beats Butler who is predicted to be in the top 3 or 4 in the A-10 by 17 points with Philmore still out. Add, a BIG recruiting get this past week and another on the horizon. And yet you've got the crowd on here proudly led by the UD contingent predicting X will "be really down for a couple years" or more on the fringe saying "they are sailing the ship right into the Cincinnati River." Keep drinking the Flyer kool-aid. I really was expecting the worst going into the season (maybe I read too much stuff on here) but I was extremely impressed with Xavier over the past week, particuarly Dee Davis and Travis Taylor. At least we've got to only win 2 more OOC games to beat the expectations from the Flyer faithful around here...

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
I know "some" had grave worries for Xavier's ability to shoot from outside and score this year. Looks like good ball movement and multiple players stepping up has eased the minds of the Xavier faithful. I'm sure these stats won't remain as high but it's still good to start out fast.
27th in 3 PFG % and leading A10 #1 of FG% in NCAA's Nice start fella's. Keep it up.

Re: 2012-2013 Xavier Musketeers
They were a dog at home against Butler - I didn't catch the line against RoMo (as their mascot is apparently called).
Coming up in the DirecTV Tournament, Xavier would likely be favored against Pacific but could be a dog against either Drexel or Saint Mary's. #forentertainmentpurposesonly? |
