Sorry, I think it was the wrong call! My son replayed the live feed at one frame per 1/8 second. There were 3/8 of a second left when Stenger released the ball. The confusion arose when the refs and the announcers mistook the inadvertent reset of the shot clock as the shot clock running out. Xavier never got the full second from 1 to 0. Coach Mack gave them a stopwatch and the refs still could not get it right. They overturned a basket with insufficient proof. BUT the momentum completely shifted after that call. It is amazing that Xavier could have hit a couple of threes, and all those points would have all been wiped out by that rule. As it was, a foul on Drake's best player was wiped away. That rule has to change IMO. I bet Coach Mack talks about it on his show tonight.

It seems that Xavier experiences more clock malfunctions than any team in the NCAAs.

WH was more doom and gloom then any UD fan was. Again...I never predicted a record for X. I've always maintained and still do a 7th to 9th place finish in the A10.

Xavier Musketeers - RPI Breakdown (CBS Sports)

3 of Xavier's 5 wins are against teams with an RPI Ranking of # 220 or worse.

Xavier won all 3 of these games by a margin of 4 points or less. Not impressive at all.

Not included in these 3 wins is Xavier's blow-out of RPI # 94 Fairleigh-Dickinson, whose best win of the season is against RPI # 230 Prairie View. Fairleigh-Dickinson picked up a big S.O.S. boost by losing to temporary RPI Top 100 teams.


Xavier's only loss so far (to RPI # 80 Pacific) is already looking like a 'bad loss'.

X lost one game by 3 to a team that shot 71% in the second half. Guess we didn't bring the Butler "D" that day, but wonder how other A-10 teams would hold up under that barrage. So far so good. Very impressive December slate. Wouldn't have it any other way @ X. Tune up in OOC for Conf. play. We just wanna get better by playing good teams.

At least Xavier has a TOP10 win. The cryers best to date is what .........#169 Arkansas St. . Yes, I'm very worried about a 5-1 record and having a team that is playing no where near up to its' potential.

Xavier next year playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Looks like a pretty good field.

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (AP) -- Kansas headlines the field for the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis.
Seven of the eight teams in next year's field were announced Saturday night after No. 5 Duke beat No. 2 Louisville 76-71 in the 2012 title game.
Joining the Jayhawks are Villanova, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Southern California, UTEP and Xavier. The eighth team will be announced at a later date.
The tournament started in 2011 when Harvard beat Central Florida in the championship game.
The games are played in the Imperial Arena, a grand ballroom which is turned into a basketball venue.
