Team USA really misses Howard right now, IMO. I watched them play Argentina yesterday and I was really disappointed in our interior play, or lack of interior play. We settle for way too many 3 pt shots. Our rebounding is marginal compared to what it should be too.

Re: OT: 1992 vs. 2012

Pops Mensah-Bonsu had 12 points, 9 rebounds for England against the US team the other day (and drew 9 fouls by attacking the basket repeatedly). I don't think he could have done that against Robinson, Ewing, and Malone.

Seriously, that 92 team was so strong inside - and with Mullin and Jordan and Bird and the rest, they could shoot it better from outside, too. This current team is faster, but the 92 team was so good in every possible phase and this current team does have a couple of weaknesses.

This team is sooooo much weaker mentally too. The 92 team with MJ, Bird, Barkley and Magic would have mentally plastered this team....and they would have enjoyed every second of it.

Re: OT: 1992 vs. 2012

The 92 team smallest margin of victory was 32 points. We beat Lithuania today by 5.

I 100% agree with this. I honestly think that we will not see a team better then them in our lifetime.

And this is exactly what you saw against Lithuania. When you have zero inside game and you rely on outside shot after outside shot you get games like this where you hope and pray the shots are falling. If the shots weren't falling for the 92 team, you just start pounding it inside to Ewing, Robinson and Malone. Can't do that with this team.
