Sounds fair.
We are a state school (unaffiliated). Xavier is an affiliated, private university. Completely different in every way. Stop whining.

Re: Whatever Happened to Khalif Wyatt?

I have never even considered going to a pro for sex but for the life of me I can't understand how people consider it to be such a sign moral turpitude. Should kids get kicked off off of teams for speeding? Speeding actually endangers the lives of others. Two consenting adults exchanging money for sex can only potentially harm one or both of the consenting adults. I don't agree with the behavior but I certainly am not going to get on some pathetic moral soapbox about it. As for the Wells comparison - it's bogus. Wells got expelled from Xavier because Xavier couldn't get their shit together. Wells was the victim NOT Mudflap or any other Xavier fan.

Exactly. Non-forced prostitution is a victimless crime, that is legal around the world, and even legal in parts of Nevada. Let's stop acting like Khalif is a rapist or a murderer. Should he have done it? No, but enough already.

I wouldn't go that far. Should Wells have been expelled? Maybe not. But the school didn't pick a student at random and throw him out. There was an incident, not his first brush with bad news at Xavier, and we don't know all the details. Some of what's leaked indicates that it wasn't exacty a moment to be proud of. Maybe the punishment was over the top, maybe if Xavier had their shit together he'd still be there. But even without their shit together, they are not taking that step without ANY reason. He's a weak victim, if he is one.

Re: Whatever Happened to Khalif Wyatt?

Spiderdave - maybe so. It's really hard to know what was going on. If the other party was a RA then I stick to my belief that he was the victim. Absent forced assault there's no other objective way to view this - an RA has the power.

As a former RA, I find this comical. About the only power RAs have is to ask people politely to keep the noise down.

Re: Whatever Happened to Khalif Wyatt?

RA's have the power to just point their finger and get students expelled from school? I don't think so.

Just wondering if the person caught soliciting was a head or asst coach, would they still be employed?
Anybody?

I think that's very different, especially if they're married. Let's not act like college kids make the best decisions. I think schools expect more of coaches.

Re: Whatever Happened to Khalif Wyatt?

Oh really. You didn't answer what should or would have happened. In the Wyatt case, Temple dropped the ball, kid should sit for a game or 2. That would serve as a better teaching moment, not a prepared statement and pay $1000. From the sound of some TU faithful, kid needs a attitude adjustment. This was a blown opportunity. But we'll see where and how it plays out.

You're entitled to your opinion.
