Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
I could be wrong, but usually this time of year it is pretty difficult to latch on in Europe, most European rosters are set. I also think Tu seems like the kind of guy who would rather tough it out in the d-league hoping to get a shot in the NBA. I do agree he would be much better served heading overseas though.

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
This is impressive as everybody that he's playing against is trying like hell to make a roster, and should be focused on their best D.

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
Love him or hate him, Tu is hardnosed and a hard worker. If he can't latch on in the NBA this season, I think he's the kind of guy who will deal with the low salaries of the D-League for a couple seasons for the legit shot at getting to the league. He can always cash in across the ocean if he can't get there. There is always the danger of injuries, but he doesn't seem injury prone.

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
You can't "always" cash in overseas. The depth of European talent gets better every year. Americans will get fewer and fewer chances for the lucrative spots. Most guys in Europe make 5 figures. Decent money and perks, sure, but far from "cashing in".
I would guess that it's harder to make big money in Europe than it is to be a journeyman NBA player. That is why so many guys toil in the D-League for so long. Here is a list of the top salaries in Europe as of 2010. One thing you will notice, very few American born or college bred players. The higher level the Euro league, the fewer Americans. You will, however, find a ton of Americans making $30,000 to $75,000. Romain Sato is up there... no doubt due to the schoolings I used to give him in pickup games each summer. I need my kickback, 'Main. http://www.talkbasket.net/salaries.html

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
Adam, it may be European salaries actually convert much higher, as they apparently are listed as net, where NBA is gross. So they've already had taxes, agent fees, etc. deducted before listing.
Additionally, they seem to get a lot of living expenses paid for that aren't included. Maybe Sato owes you more than you think. Good luck getting that! (your only shot is if he's changed his name to Cantino and we've snuck him back on the roster) http://www.ballineurope.com/european...sketball-3298/

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
Dionte Christmas waived by the Celts. Had a great summer league - maybe can catch on with another team?

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
Watching DBrown play trying to make Spurs vs Orlando. Nicholoson and Harper playing very good minutes for Magic. AN had 9 pts in the 2nd quarter 4/5 1/1 with a thunderous dunk and got the interview going into locker room. Up on Spurs by 9 @ half. AN may start for this team very soon. Great place for these two to land.

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
Wright Waived, Others Still On Rosters (Doug Harris, DDN - October 24, 2012) Forward Chris Wright, the former Dayton star, was waived by the Toronto Raptors this week. But three of Wright’s teammates are still on NBA rosters with less than a week to go before the start of the regular-season. Guard Brian Roberts is playing for New Orelans, center Devin Searcy for Philadelphia, and wing Chris Johnson for Orlando. The first NBA games will be played Tuesday. -------------------------------------------------------- Hopefully, Chris Wright will find a way back to the NBA via the Development League, and the other 3 Flyers will remain on their respective rosters. If an NBA team is not interested in Wright this season, he still has a lucrative professional basketball career awaiting him in Europe next season. Best of luck to all four Flyers !

Re: OT: NBA Training Camp Rosters
I don't see Johnson being with the Magic in a week. As mentioned above, it is still a numbers game in Orlando.
Nicholson had 6 pts and 6 rebounds in 18 minutes last night. He was 3/8 from the field, but only had one foul (his ability to play without picking up contact fouls has always and will continue to determine how much he plays). It looks like the likely starters played most of the game for both teams so it's not surprising that he struggled a bit more.
