The fact that you even know this information is disturbing. This is the problem with college sports today. We shouldn't have any idea what these kids SAT scores are, it's not our business.

We shouldn't care about this either. This is their personal lives, and I assume most of us here do not know these players personally. So why care? I don't care how Raphiael Putney did on his SAT or did on his chemistry test, it's irrelevant and makes no difference to me. As a fan of my team, I only care about how he displays good sportsmanship and performs on the court. That's what matters from a fan standpoint.

Re: A-10 Media Day today at Barclays Center in Brooklyn

Test scores and GPAs were fine. They had their 16 core classes. It had to do with transferring to multiple schools and taking a 5th year in each case.

The NCAA is cracking down on kids transferring flippantly for basketball reasons.

Are there defined numbers, if that is correct, for those decisions?
That's basically it. Do a search for "NCAA sliding scale". It's set to change in 2016 making things a little tougher, but what you'll see in that scale can be somewhat scary because it seems very friendly. When you start factoring in core courses it is not as straight forward as it seems though.

A lot of that, most of it, has been in recruiting publications. When he was ruled ineligible at TCU much of it came out.

I find that a little disturbing and hard to believe. Is it possible that having gone to multiple schools that the NCAA felt there was some overlap in core courses and the necessary forms to get him approved were not filed by all schools?

What you describe sounds like a great case for a lawsuit. I can't see the NCAA getting involved in the business of high school transfers.

Also, under what rule is Alie-Cox allowed to remain on scholarship, but not practice? As far as I know the NCAA has no such designation.

Semaj is averaging 7 point and 7 assists, which you forgot to add.

You think they base everything off points only?

Why bring this up after 2 or 3 games anyway?

1. Semaj is also averaging 5.0 turnovers per game - the second-worst average in the entire Atlantic 10.
Atlantic 10 Individual Stats - sorted by turnovers per game (Yahoo!)
2. No.

3. Early barometer reading on the Atlantic 10's freshmen. Dyshawn Pierre and Jalen Robinson have played 4 games.

So an injured freshman, WHO IS LEADING THE A10 IN ASSISTS, is averaging 2 more Asst than To's/game isn't worthy of all A10 freshman team but a 5th year senior averaging 2 more asst's than TO's is worthy of being mentioned as POY. HAHHAHHAHHAAHHAHAHH

This coming from the same guy that posted link after link after link about how bad Xavier's 3PT shooting was going to be. Classic stuff

3 games is pretty early to tell a lot about how a season will go.
But it's interesting to note that:

1 - Xavier is #1 in the country in Field Goal %, Effective Field Goal % and True Shooting %.

I'm thinking #1 in the country is not too bad.

2 - As for 3 PT shooting, so far (and it's only 3 games) we are shooting at the best % that we have had in the last 16 years [don't have earlier records] and are 20th in the country....#1 in the A10.

Our rebounding, however, needs a lot of work. We are getting killed on the boards.

It's also interesting to note that these 'impressive' stats were racked up at Cintas Center against a horrible FDU team that had suspended 4 of their players, an over-rated Butler team, and a Robert Morris team that was twice blown out by teams of questionable quality.

I'll take another look a Xavier's stats and Semaj Christon's stats after Xavier has played some of the 'quality' teams on their non-conference schedule, particularly away games and neutral court games.

Melvin Johnson is averaging 7 points in only 11 minutes of play. I'd expect to see his minutes increase as we move through the season. he provides an offensive spark that no one else on our team does.
