Re: 2012-2013 Blue Ribbon A-10 Predicted Order of Finish
The fact that you think you were mad at WH for not speaking the "truth" when he didn't pick UMass number 1 is a decent indication that you are a homer. And by the way, your team is not on top. The season hasn't started yet.
PS KD > Chaz. Little guy has one speed. That's not being a homer that's just stating the truth and being true to myself, apparently. |

Some Duqueane fans seems to really hang onto this. I guess it somehow comforts them. I hope however you do realize that Hurley was still trying to build a program at Wagner which was a train-wreck when he arrived and carried over into his first season. He quickly righted the ship in only his 2nd year at Wagner going 25-5 with a win at Pitt but two losses to LIU. It was also only his 2nd year as a college head coach. When Hurley went up against Ferry, Ferry had already established LIU and was in his 9th and 10th seasons at the school. Ferry won 27 and 25 games those two years. They were his best seasons ever as he had only one other winning season (2008-09 16-14) as a D1 head coach. Career Records: Ferry 10 seasons 150-149 .502 Hurley 2 seasons 38-23 .623 I myself don't have really high expectations for Dan Hurley and URI this season and meaningless prediction are of little concern. This year is all about setting a tone and laying the groundwork for the future. If Dan's recruiting is any indication, the future looks like it will get much better very soon. Re: 2012-2013 Blue Ribbon A-10 Predicted Order of Finish
Dillard: 13.3 points FG% 0.412 3FG% 0.325 FT% 0.827 A 6.0 S 1.4 R 2.7
Chaz:...16.9 points FG% 0.410 3FG% 0.419 FT% 0.788 A 6.2 S 2.2 R 4.4 The only thing Dillard is better at is being slower and shooting free throws. I wish Chaz shot better from the line and would slow down sometimes but I wouldn't trade him for Dillard. Ever. |

Re: 2012-2013 Blue Ribbon A-10 Predicted Order of Finish
87, I know you guys would never trade Chaz for Dillard, as I would never trade Dillard for Chaz. They are very different players. Chaz is more of a scorer, KD a true PG. I don't remember many games where Dillard was 2-12 like Chaz was at UD arena. When his shot isn't going, he ain't taking 12 of them.

Re: 2012-2013 Blue Ribbon A-10 Predicted Order of Finish
Dillard is very good. But Williams is better. Not surprised Dayton fans don't agree, their guy is good, and Williams played his worst game by far at Dayton last year. The fact that Williams has some big scoring games doesn't mean he isn't a a true PG. Williams seems to be a great leader, and he did average more assists and more steals than Dillard. Seems pretty point-guardy to me.

Re: 2012-2013 Blue Ribbon A-10 Predicted Order of Finish
I guess it affects our thinking when we see Chaz come to UD and lay a complete egg in person. Dillard does have a slightly better A/TO ratio too (2.1 vs 1.8, I think). I would like Dillard to be able to shoot the 3 like Chaz did last year. I would like to see better defense from Dillard, which I think he is very capable of.
Chaz looked out-of-control for some stretches that I watched him last year.

Absolutely. I wasn't kidding when I said I wish he'd slow down sometimes. The difference between his 2-point and 3-point fg% is indicative of a kid trying to do too much (and also being really, really short).

Re: 2012-2013 Blue Ribbon A-10 Predicted Order of Finish
I wish there was a Duquesne recruiting thread I could post in 5 times a day! Unfortunately there is not enough info about Duquesne recruiting to make it a valuable thread.
I also think it is interesting that you are criticizing me for posting about Duquesne and players I think will have good years even though the team is in a rebuilding year. Good fans post about their teams even when they are not predicted to be at the top of the standings. I have been a fairly consistent and valuable poster on this board for almost 4 years. You have popped into this community and have been a plague since you arrived. I am starting to worry you are becoming obsessed with me. Finally, Isiaiah Watkins is a 3 star recruit and had offers from many top BCS schools across the nation. It was a big pick up for Jim Ferry and Duquesne.

3-12 4-12 2-10 4-12 There are others but I think you get the point. Scorers always think there next shot is going in. I think both Williams and Dillard do what they think they need to do to help the team win.
