OT: Cinci Reds - Daytime Parking
So, I'm gonna be in the A10 heartland (SW Ohio, not Philly) from Thurs to Mon.
Seeing as they finalized the time for Game 5 of Reds-Giants if necessary to 1PM, there are a ton of tickets reasonably priced on StubHub. I guess people don't want to take vacation for the NLDS. Since I will have nothing to do on Thurs afternoon, I might go to the game. So, assuming the game happens and assuming I get myself a ticket - What am I looking at for parking for a 1PM Thursday playoff game? I'm staying outside city so will have to drive in/out. I'm actually flying in on Thurs so the quicker I can get there and park the better. Might not even make start of game. I figure this is the best place for me to throw it out there and get some good responses on short notice. It might be moot after tonight as the Reds can win and the game won't even happen, but the sooner I get this up the more eyes can see it if there is a Game 5. I'm not paying more than $50 for my ticket so if parking is $30-$40 or something I probably won't go. But anything relatively quick in/out for a reasonable price near there on a midday weekday? Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Hopefully it all works out. I've never been to a playoff baseball game and a winner take all should be awesome. Were I to attempt to go to an elimination playoff game in Boston I can assure you I would not get in for under $50. Hence why I've never been despite being a pretty big baseball fan.

Tickets available? Wow.
Damn I miss playoff baseball. We have been spoiled over the last 5 years in Philadelphia.

Re: OT: Cinci Reds - Daytime Parking
Tickets are always available on Stubhub. Brokers gotta make money.
There is a parking lot between the stadiums. But it will fill up early. You can also park across the river and walk across a bridge right to the stadium. Other people here, or google, could help you out with the exact location in Newport. I've never actually done it. There is also a boat you can take across the river. I have done that. Not sure if they run for playoff games, though. I would think they do. Other people will have to help you with the downtown aspect of parking. I don't do that. I get right off at Freeman Ave and take it right to the lot between the stadiums. Downtown is a pain in the ass trying to get back on 75 N after a Reds or Bengals game. Also, scalping on the street is legal in Cincinnati, so if you don't find anything good on Stubhub, go find a scalper. Just make sure they have a scalpers license visible. Don't buy from some random dude, there have been fake tickets sold in Cincinnati before. The legal, licensed scalpers are always legit.

Re: OT: Cinci Reds - Daytime Parking
Best bet for cheap parking, is to park across the river in Northern Kentucky, then either walk across one of the bridges or grab a cab. You shouldn't have to pay that much for parking. It will get packed early, especially on a work day, so if you're running late, it could be hard to find anything relative close to the stadium.

Re: OT: Cinci Reds - Daytime Parking
The place I typically park if I drive down is a garage on Main Street I think, in between 5th and 6th street. It's usually pretty cheap but I haven't been down there for a playoff game. I'm heading down now but am not driving. Hopefully we don't need the 5th game anyway!

I'm a little worried that this series is going a full 5 games, but if Latos can again be the Giant killer that he was in Game 1 (and his career), the Reds still have a good shot of winning tomorrow. They'll have the heart of their bullpen rested as well. |

Re: OT: Cinci Reds - Daytime Parking
Thanks to everyone for your help. Without it I probably wouldn't have looked across the river and would have been stuck trying to find something downtown in the middle of the day.
According to the site, Newport-on-the-Levee is free parking from 11-2 on Thurs. Only $2 after 2. Think I can handle that. Hopefully they don't jack it up for the game and its not full (not sure how much parking is there in total). I got a ticket for the game. Not sure I'm gonna make it for the whole game since I'm flying in tmrw morning but the ticket on StubHub was $12. Section 418 so not too bad. I figured once the game became definite people would make plans to go and the tickets would go up. Nope. I guess just more people had to sell them. Because they are abundant and cheap. As an example - Sec 528. Upper level but behind home plate. Face value ticket - $45. About $51 with TicketMaster fees. As of an hour ago there are 165 seats listed for $15 and under. Some 500 level seats for as low as $4. Seriously. You get charged $10.45 in StubHub fees (for any ticket $50 and under, more for higher) so even the $5 tix are really $15. But, still. $15 for an elimination playoff baseball game? Really? So if you are anywhere near downtown Cinci tomorrow around lunch and are "feeling a bit sick" plenty of good seats still available.
