Twisted, thanks for the update.
Even though WH has gone off the rails on X (up to this point) his ability to be within 1 on every other team is impressive.
Will be interesting to see this play out through December.
Thanks also to WH for putting a league-wide forecast together to be compared as we go along.

The league is tracking pretty much as I expected except for Xavier. The rules I use for forecasting are simple but tested over time. Most of us have a pretty good idea of the kind of games A-10 teams lose, where and to whom.

As for X, I dunno. I did my forecast shortly after Dez was kicked out of school and two of the touted frosh were ruled ineligible. I kept looking at the sked, thinking: How the hell is X going to win any noncon games!

Happy to be wrong - knock on wood - but Christon is a huge reason for that. Kid might be a once-in-a-generation player. Still have to see more, but he might be the best frosh guard since Mark Macon and the best newcomer since either West, Nelson or Camby.

Not really. If his actual record on game by game predictions was that close to correct, it would be great. But it's not that hard to get close on overall record....the mistakes cancel each other out.

Put your money where you mouth is and go ahead and predict the remaining w's and l's for the league. I would love to compare them. 70% right is pretty impressive especially if you HAVE to pick every game. You sorta predicted 4-1 on 11/18's games and ended up 1-4. Not so easy I guess.

Uh, no. If you'd like to focus on that day, fine....but I would have gone 2-3, not 1-4. And WH went 3-2.

70% on every game over the course of an entire season is fine, though I think many on here could do it. Focusing on the overall "+1" or "-2" as an indicator of great prognostication is nothing but a fallacy, however.

You know, A10fan, I kind of agree with SpiderDave. Many here could forecast the noncon sked as well as me, including SpiderDave himself.

In fact, I'd be happy to let SpiderDave compile this forecast for next season and beyond! It does take a lot of time to research every noncon foe. I'd be delighted to offload this to someone else after doing it for years.

What do you say, SpiderDave, want to do this for the board next year? Let us all know!

God no. I appreciate the time you put into it, and I enjoy reading the predictions before the season. I just don't think the level of accuracy is anything to go to Vegas with.
