Re: Kwamain Mitchell - Broken Foot
That's at least 3 A-10 teams, maybe 4, that have lost their best player - either due to injury or unexpected transfer (like X). Brutal.

Re: Kwamain Mitchell - Broken Foot
Jim Crews told Chris Mack to throw a ball into the face of a UD player while at Evansville in the late 80's, and white people in sweatervests do not forget anything, apparently.

Re: Kwamain Mitchell - Broken Foot
Seemed like Mitchell and Conklin were the two "playmakers" on the squad last season that were consistently able to get their own shots as well as for others. Thought the offense would struggle losing Conklin's presence inside, but take away Mitchell and I don't see how this squad scores against a decent defense. Here's hoping McCall is ready to make the leap.

Re: Kwamain Mitchell - Broken Foot
I agree about Conklin. I think people are really underestimating his role on SLU last year. I didn't see them play a ton, but what I saw was in addition to the stats he put up, he was a big intangibles guy doing a little of everything and being leader on the court. Lots of leadership lost in Conklin, Majerus, and now Mitchell for a little while. The good thing for SLU is they have talented guards to fill in, with experience and in Jett and McCall - who seem very capable of filling the void.

Re: Kwamain Mitchell - Broken Foot
Whenever I see the name Brian Conklin, I can't help but picture a 21/22 year old sobbing like a girl at an NCAA press conference. One of the more comical things I have ever seen.
He was a hell of a ball player.
