College Basketball AP Poll Discussion
The first AP Top 25 poll comes out later today. I figured we could use a thread like this to discuss the top 25 as it comes out over the course of the season. Hopefully the discussion will be centered around several A-10 teams who make appearances as the season progresses.
In checking out some of the voters in the AP poll who made their ballots public, Saint Louis seems to be the one A-10 school that shows up the most. VCU also shows up but not as often. If I had to guess I'd say Saint Louis will come in at the back end of the top 25 and VCU will have a good number of votes but in the 'Receiving Votes' section.

Re: College Basketball AP Poll Discussion
I find it interesting that there seems to be alot of A-10 squads stack up just outside the Top 25, but none in a conference that certainly has increased its quality in the off season breaking the Top 25. The exclusion of Temple in the discussion is also interesting, but thats fine with me as I will take them more times than not this season to win games betting against those who only look at rankings. The bottleneck outside the Top25 may be meaningful or not I'm not sure but I wonder if it speaks to the "experts" not really valuing the A-10 as highly as they should. Come January 1st, I think the list looks quite different!

Those of you who think that 'A10 Suck Factor' losses are pointless or irrelevant should check next Monday's AP Poll.

Re: College Basketball AP Poll Discussion
Think it is a little crazy, but never thought I would see Xavier getting even a single vote at any point this season.
Butler looking much better today, maybe that win will look better down the road

If Xavier loses to Drexel or St. Mary's, the Musketeers will 'advance' to the Losers' Bracket, and likely face Rice or Drake in their third game of the Anaheim Classic. I would expect to see California play Drexel or St. Mary's in the Championship Game. It will be interesting to see if Xavier gets any AP Poll votes next Monday.

Or if Xavier makes it thru to play Calif and wins, it will be interesting to see if they break into the TOP25 AGAIN.

Re: College Basketball AP Poll Discussion
Hold the bus... Xavier is getting votes in the AP Top 25 poll?!?!?!?!
Isn't this the Xavier team that was going to start a "multi-year" regression of the X program. Isn't this the Xavier team picked in the lower half of the A-10 (as low as 14th?) Yet Xavier is one of only two A-10 schools even getting votes??? And what about all that talk on how strong the A-10 is this year? Either it's a sad, sad day for the A-10 or Xavier just keeps doing what Xavier does every single year. (Post somewhat tounge-in-cheek but I'll take everything I can after hearing for MONTHS on here how Xavier was about to begin a "couple year rough patch")
