Hopefully a .500 week. Disappointing to leave an easy game like San Diego St. out there yesterday.

This Stanford team should be very solid this year after winning the NIT last year. Randle and Bright give them an excellent backcourt and they are so stingy as a team on defense. Belmont is still a good team, but they struggled in the non-conference last year. Losing their two big men in Saunders and Hedgepath will hurt them in this one.

Did you catch any of this game, Lari? I was out and missed it. Read a brief recap and saw La Salle got up big early but that the lead was back and forth in the second half. Looks like La Salle did a good job of shutting down Saddler. Some line changes for the game - I bet it at +8 this morning but saw it got bet down to 6.5 at one point. I debated Cal-Irvine. Sleeper team in Big West. That was the easy play today. Oh well.

I saw it at 60-55 Delaware with 2 1/2 left, and then couldn't believe La Salle not only won but nearly covered. Of course, they probably pulled ahead and then knocked down their FTs in the last 30 seconds.

Gap between the better low to mid major programs and the run-of-the-mill BCS schools is closing. Have to guard against going with the name schools just because. Example of that is Loyola getting 7.5 at Washington; Vegas begging you to take Washington. I think they're hoping people jump on Cuse too.

Good advice, Lari. Loyola MD was playing well at the end of last season. Love the energy they play with and they have a couple of really good players in Etherly and Cormier.
