Re: 11/12 A-10 Games
The Rams were overmatched and they got down on themselves in the second half, but I think this team will get a lot better over the next few months. They got some decent young bigs and promising perimeter players. They are just oh so very young. Missing Fatty doesn't help. The frosh Myers shows promise but it would help to have another experienced ball handler on the floor.

Re: 11/12 A-10 Games
Kinda, but Georgia sucks. Probably wouldn't be top 10 in the A10.

Re: 11/12 A-10 Games
Looks like St. Joe's is nearly done punishing the woeful Elis. 59-35 under two minutes. Thanks, Hawks, for making life easy for me in Lock of the Day!
I know that Yale stinks, but the St. Joe's defense is going to be just smothering this year. I'm not at all looking forward to playing them Last edited by bprichard; 11-12-2012 at 06:08 PM. Reason: Added a sentence |

Re: 11/12 A-10 Games
Gonna be a long year for Rhody. I only see one A-10 caliber starter in the lineup - juco transfer Xavier Munford. Pure scorer on the wing who can get his points in a number of ways. Frosh bigman Jordan Hare might become one of those guys, but not anytime soon.
Malone is decent but a 6th or 7th man. Ditto for Malesevic. He is a spot shooter who needs to be surrounded by better and more athletic players. Painful watching him put it on the floor. He got swatted several times on a drive. Not sure about the soph PG Mike Powell. Seems like a pretty good player, but again, he needs better players around him. They won't arrive till next year. Hurley is building Rhody much like Travis Ford did at UMass. Get a bunch of good transfers and jucos and sign a few topflight recruits. Take a big hit the first year and turn it around in the second. |

Re: 11/12 A-10 Games
Youngstown has me worried, the Dukes play them as part of the tourney pod they are hosting next week.

Re: 11/12 A-10 Games
Fordham is in a different spot. The team has one good senior and one okay junior. There is hardly any talent in the upper classes.
Most of the talent resides in the sophomore and freshmen classes, most of whose players are untested. The underclassmen are the future, but it's hard to tell if there are any future stars. I like soph Bryan Smith most. Looks like an A-10 caliber starter. Everyone else has to earn it. |

Re: 11/12 A-10 Games
I saw a good portion of the Youngstown-GW game and I was impressed with the visitors. Well coached, solid defensively, could shoot the ball. Dukes, if they are to win, will have to do it with defense.
