Re: Butler
DB, very good points. Mooney has shown an unwillingness to change defenses even when the constant switching is beaten for constant layups. He has experimented with some pressure defense early in seasons against weaker opponents and had success but always abandons it come conference time. I wish we would mix defenses some since it would help energize some of our guys. I love Mooney but this is my main criticism of him.

Re: Butler
Last June screwing around, I bet someone on here (have no idea whom) that butler would make the top 10 this year. Come Monday, I'd imagine I'll win that bet. I honestly can't believe it, after losing Hopkins (arguably the most talented player on the team)

Re: Butler
Butler fans have to be honest and say they didn't really expect them to be this good. I knew they would be good but not necessarily this good.

Re: Butler
Gonzaga vs Butler was about as good as it gets when it comes to basketball. The pro game just cannot replicate the atmosphere of a big college game. How many four & five star recruits were on the court last night?

Re: Butler
mm4cc,
Honestly? EXACTLY right and that is what you go with? The correct response is "I was wrong and Im very surprised." Side note: Butler has been in the top 15 6 of the last 7 years, its neither really news when it happens nor is it hard to spot given the familiarity. |

Re: Butler
Great Butler win! Stevens is a master, and he smiles that innocent, cat-with-the-canary-feathers-sticking-out-of-the- corners-of-his-mouth smile in the post game.
Many Xavier fans hate Hinkle, but with the crowd really on top of the floor at both ends, it is an awesome atmosphere, and what college ball is about for me. That was just a great great back and forth game at the end. Reminded me of Xavier-Creighton game NY eve several years ago. I love this league! |

Re: Butler
I think Butler has a nice little team. The next time they play X, they will most likely be able to keep the final within 10 or so.
Kidding, my new found league brothers. Butler is playing some outstanding basketball. Love the gritty style, the coaching, Hinkle...all of it. Many years of continued rivalry ahead, I hope. Congratulations on a great win!

Re: Butler
The targets have changed to Butler and VCU. Nobody worried about little old X and Temple. Too bad they may not stay around for another year so everyone can plan their "white-outs, red-outs, blue-outs" against them. Nice to see Butler finally selling out. long overdue imho.
