I know you guys care, so it is with a heavy heart that I say 4 star SG Kenny Williams (LC Bird) has asked OUT of his LOI to re-evaluate his college choice. Said that VCU is still a consideration

Meh, somewhat surprising, but ask any Ram fan if they'd prefer the entire team remains intact and you'd get a HELL YES. Stuff like this happens when Coaches leave....we'll be fine :)

Coaching changes can be tough. Shows how much these kids choose a coach and not necessarily the program.

Archie went through the same thing when he took over at Dayton. Two players transferred out (Staten and Spearman) and two recruits (Henton and Gibson) both asked to be let out of their NLI. Basically Archie had to rebuild the program from Day 1 and the first two years were pretty rocky.

It is a little odd that existing players would leave. I mean they signed a coach who plays the exact same system and who even recruited some of them. Unless they are transferring to play for Texas, which I'd say none except Larrier really could, they will be going to an even more unfamiliar situation – a new coach AND new teammates AND a new system AND new surroundings. I'd rather stay where everything was the same except for the coach, personally.

The transfers aren't really surprising. VCU fans were delusional to think Will Wade is Shaka. They've gone to five straight NCAA tournaments and yet they really believe anyone could have done that. Damn shame.

I read somewhere that Shaka's VCU contract included $10,000 for clothes. Every time Ive seen Shaka, he's never looked overdressed -- mostly that off-the-rack Haggar and Arrow look. Seems to have taken his closet to Austin.

I am waiting for the dust to clear so I can see. Lots of speculation is happening right now regarding players with no concrete information. We will know more in the next month.
I was on spring break with my wife and son so I am glad that I missed the sky is falling stuff. Oh, I went to Philly for a couple of days. I am disappointed that I did not see sjhawk13 or Phill Martelli. I did eat dinner next to a SJU student that was on the rowing team. She was also the Hawk for the women's basketball season. By the way I saw a SJU billboard dedicated to veterans of war so the crazed SJU poster should feel good about that.

If you wanted, I bet you could have seen both me AND Phil Martelli. Heck, I bet we all could have had lunch.

Yep. Coach Wade has his work cut out for him. Such is the life cycle of college sports. Hopefully the rest of the current players will stick around. The four freshmen about to become sophs are the main concern especially since it appears that the three 2015 recruits have opened up the recruiting process.

I have decided to be here with my brothers and stay at VCU....RAMNATION!! #Brotherhood #Family

I looks like VCU's current roster is staying intact. Now Coach Wade can search to fill the needs for the 3 to 4 spots for the class of 2015.

Will Wade has kept VCU in position to again be one of the better teams in the Atlantic 10. Rams return seven of their top nine scorers.

Well, this was Scissum's tweet and now he has deleted it. I am not sure what the heck is happening. Maybe he will be a Ram or maybe not. Weird because another confirmation of VCU was deleted. Other recruited sites confirmed him to VCU. Maybe he wants to come but it has not been accepted or it is a hoax. Wild stuff. Ha!

Welcome to VCU Gerron. Now I think Coach Wade is going to fill 3 more spots. I am guessing to big men (centers) and a shooter.

It has been a long process and a tough decision but I've have decided to take my academics and basketball talents to VCU #RamNation
---------------------------------------
Scissum is listed as 6'7-6'8 and he had gotten interest from Maryland, Arkansas, Bama, and he had offers Ole Miss, DePaul, Chattanooga, Richmond and Murray State among others.

Here is listed just beneath Malik Newman and Brandon Sampson as a top player in his region.
http://www.hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/2660-best-of-the-rest-al-ms-la-players

"Scissum may be the least talked about player on this list, but he is a sleeper on the national radar, and high-major programs are starting to take notice. At 6-foot-7, he has a versatile game and can play multiple positions on the floor, making him even more valuable to coaches.

A month ago Scissum was set on making a decision soon, but with some new high-major interest, those plans fell through. Florida Atlanta, Louisiana Tech, and Murray State are all heavily involved, but Maryland evaluated him a few weeks ago and liked what they saw. The Terrapins could be a factor in his recruitment going forward."

here's some comments on his motor/effort

http://peachstatebasketball.com/bra...-learned-lighthouse-classic-december-17-2014/

"This was the second straight Saturday that we had seen Scissum play. Much like the eval last week at the Jared Cook Classic, the 6-8 unsigned senior was effective around the rim with his athleticism and energy. Scissum’s willingness to play hard all of the time separates him from some of the other available power forward prospects that we’ve seen to date. A three-star prep, Scissum holds offers from Chattanooga, Florida Atlantic, Mercer and Tennessee Techamongst others."

http://www.allmetrohoops.com/index.php/87-news-articles/236-best-of-the-south

"Scissum put in work day 2 of the Best of the South Tournament at Suwannee. Gerron scores it extremely well from 18ft and in with dribble pull ups, catch and shoot, as well as putting the ball on the deck to use his craftiness and tight footwork to get high percentage close range shots. Scissum is very versatile, his athleticism, length, and ball skills enable him to be highly effective on the glass on both ends of the floor, defend multiple positions, and provide offensive punch from all over the court. He also demonstrated great decision making with the ball in his hand in transition."

He said academic and basketball talents. He deleted the tweet so it makes me think VCU wants him too wait. Maybe they have other announcements to go with his commitment. It was a quick tweet with lots of welcomes and then it was gone.
He seems like a under the radar player that has garnered interest late. Oh well we will see if it becomes official. If he does sign then Buay Tuach is probably out of the mix. They seem like similar players.
