Re: 11/16 A-10 Games
Agreed. They are the best team I've seen in the A-10 so far, small sample size aside.
Doing that without Tay Jones is EXTREMELY impressive.

Also think Notre Dame is slightly overrated...
Still a great early win for St Joes who is setting the standard... I will disagree with the notion that they have the have the most talented backcourt, but absolutely agree on having the best frontcourt |

Re: 11/16 A-10 Games
Congratulations to all the winners yesterday. I caught my first look at UMass. Ugh. I really think we've already seen Kellogg's ceiling with last years NIT run. If they do finally get to the dance this year its likely a one-and-out, or absolute best case maybe one win. NC State had nothing physically on the Minutemen. They were slightly more skilled. If both coaches were equally skilled then NC State would still win 9 out 10 times, but they'd all be close. That 20+ point gap - 30 was more reflective of the gap, take away that useless run at the end, is all coaching. If this weren't my alma mater I would hate this team. They're dumb, no discipline at all. Save for a couple of Escho alley oops there wasn't a single positive to take away from that game. It was one game, sure, but the NIT run looked the same, except with totally unmotivated opponents that allowed them to play that way and still win.
The odd thing is that I do want Kellogg to stick around, even if this is as good as it's ever going to get. It would nice to have some stability, even if it's the mediocre variety. Kellogg is mediocre, no doubt about it. |

Re: 11/16 A-10 Games
I agree, Notre Dame is a team that is usually overrated, however the reason I was so impressed was that Notre Dame actually played one of it's better games I have seen them play and with SJU missing 2 pieces to their rotation to be able to beat a quality team playing well on a neutral court is great. Tonight will be interesting because FSU is beatable but tough to turn around a night after that long game still 2 men short (and a tooth)

Re: 11/16 A-10 Games
What a game by St Joe's last night. I was dozing off but their effort woke me up.
I still despise "Can-O-Septic", but that is a damn good team. That front line is the truth and the guards arent bad either. They will do damage and I expect them to get ranked before too much longer. And yes, I saw Langston get curb stomped by ND. AND THEN COME RIGHT BACK IN THE GAME. We had a guy do something like that years and years ago. Bobby Kummer. He later went on the be an Asst Coach. I thought him spitting out teeth was hardcore, but LG's was so graphic it takes the prize. I've seen every A10 team play so far this season. Some surprised, some disappointed, but IMO, Joe's is the best. Title goes through them this year. Last edited by NinerAdvocate; 11-17-2012 at 11:33 AM. |
