3 games on tap for Friday and all 3 are chances at BCS scalps and 2 are chances at upsets over ranked opponents. Dayton plays a Boston College team who almost took down Baylor today in the 2nd round of the Charleston Classic. UMass hopes to keep living on a prayer as they play #6 NC State in the semifinal of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off and finally St. Joes gets a big test as they are 3 point dogs facing #20 Notre Dame on Tru TV as part of the Coaches vs Cancer tournament.

I'm looking for guts right now. Game's lost, but don't give up uncontested shots, get on the floor for a ball, etc. This is an opportunity to get better.

Still way too undisciplined to beat a team like this.

UMass is what we expect. A good team with excellent athletes and all the ingredients to get into the NCAA tournament. But a team that also has clear limitations and a style of play that can be exploited by better-coached teams.

I expect 20 wins or more - and lots of teeth grinding. NC State was a bad matchup and hopefully the players figure out how to play with more care.

Pierre was fantastic, as was Robinson for Dayton. Pierre had a dream day from the field. He was 8-8 on FGs, 5-5 on treys and 2-2 on freebies. Last time a player had a game like that was Delonte West, against Xavier I believe.

Dayton was a very well coached team too, from what I saw. But I thought Oliver was actually the team's best player. He was outstanding on defense and did a bit of everything on offense.

Oliver is awesome. He sometimes struggles with his offense, but he literally does everything else possible to help the Flyers. He rebounds, defends, makes sharp passes and just generally knows how the game is played. If Josh Benson weren't from Dayton Dunbar, Oliver would be my favorite Flyer.

West had the single best game I have ever seen from an A-10 player. He scored 33 points to guide the Hawks to a win at Xavier in 2004. Both teams went to the Elite 8 that year.

As you note, Spider-mix, West was 12-12 from the field, but also 6-6 from the line. He hit all three treys he attempted. For good measure Delonte added had 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

Closest thing to basketball perfection I've witnessed.

Some small measure of revenge as we handed them their first defeat of the year in the A10 tournament, and the worst beating a #1 had ever had from an unranked team. All I really remember was losing by 3 to Duke in Atlanta. Heartbreaking.
