Terrible News for Fordham, Bad News for the League
Just read that Chris Gaston, has gone down with a knee. Will have arthroscopic surgery and be out one month at least. Things were bad with him, 0-3, he was hampered in the games, and now we are screwed.
Did not see this news posted here. If it was, my apology. |

Man, that sucks for him and the Rams. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery. I'm sure it is too early to know, or for he and the program to decide, but would he redshirt? Put him on the squad next year after some of the youngsters get a year of experience? On the other hand, he may be anxious to get back on the court this year, get out of Dodge and take his talents to the next level?

Re: Terrible News for Fordham, Bad News for the League
Gaston will be able to find work in Europe, but that’s about it. Might be better to earn some money, though, than redshirt. The Rams appear to be at least two years away from the chance at a winning record.
Big blow for Fordham. With him and Fatty McMillan out, the Rams could cave in during the noncon schedule. Gonna pull down the league RPI unless the young guys grow up quick. We’ll see. |

Re: Terrible News for Fordham, Bad News for the League
With the numbers Gaston has put up, he'll land somewhere in Europe, like WH said. Even Da'Quan Cook (wildy underrated by the Bona fans, especially on the Bandwagon) landed in Bulgaria and he's not near the player Gaston is.
The problem will be for the rest of the conference as someone else mentioned in RPI. Fordham's out-of-conference schedule seems pretty backloaded, but the games he'll be missing are the games that were winnable. They'll still have a shot in some, but we're going to see some bad losses mixed in there too. The guys behind Gaston will get more playing time, which will make them a deeper and better team when Gaston returns for A-10 play. Given how tight the top of the conference is likely to be, those teams looking for at large NCAA bids will need every win they can get. If we see one of the top four or five drop a game to Fordham, it could lose us a bid. I think we'll see that happen to someone up at the top of the conference. |

Guys, Fordham's RPI was going to be brutal with or without Gaston. Double-digit losses to Texas State and Robert Morris tells you where this season's headed nowhere.

Seriously? Who cares about where they were going to be, we are talking about one persons life here, an injury, his future. I hope for the best for him.
