Re: 11/20 A-10 Games

Gutsy effort by McCall, Evans, Remekun, and Ellis. Loe is garbage. Barnett hit some nice 3s and played hard, but injuries have forced him into a role that's over his head. Not sure why Manning didn't play (outsisde of the last minute of the first half).

Honestly as bad as the opening 5 minutes were and given that Jett got hurt (on top of Mitchell and Carter being out), I'll take a 14-point loss to a good KU team on their own turf. This easily could have been a 30 point loss.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts too. It could have been a lot worse.

You're certainly entitled to disagree. I feel that UNC will be the better win when it comes down to Selection Sunday, but I don't disagree that ND is probably a better team right now. I just don't think that means it's a better win for the A-10.

Butler's win commanded more attention to the strength of the A-10 than St. Joseph's' win over Notre Dame did and North Carolina is North Carolina. They will also be much better in March than they were tonight.

This is all subjective obviously, but the selection process, rankings, and perceptions of our conference are just as subjective. I'll take that win over UNC every time when it comes to that.

Re: 11/20 A-10 Games

All that said, I think St. Joe's is clearly the best team in the conference right now with the games that have been played. They have been nothing short of masterful so far.

Butler has shown they will be very much a factor in the A-10 race. They have a good squad when they are able to impose their style on teams. Being new they may have some adjustments to make, but they certainly have the talent, winning experience, and likely the best coaching in the league to help them transition through that.

I also think the SJU's win late on a late Friday night was mostly ignored by all but the most hard core basketball junkies. It showed in the lack of increased votes that the Hawks received in both polls.

A Top #10 UNC team losing on a Tuesday night to an unranked team has an all-day ESPN talkfest written all over it.
