Re: 11/24 A-10 Games
GW with their best game in a while blowing out Hofstra. GW dominated around the paint and just outmuscled the Pride. Most impressive GW stat: 26 assists on 34 baskets.
Kevin Larson was strong inside with 14 points, isiah Armwood had 12 points, 10 boards, and 5 blocks. Garino had 9 points and 5 steals. McDonald had 6 points, 6 assists and 5 boards, and Kromah led the team with 15 and actually decided to play defense today. Also kethan savage looked very nice. Definitely seemed like the team learned something from the Notre Dame game.

Flyers looked good when they needed to against the Jaspers. They definitely had trouble with the zone. Luckily both Sanford and Dillard feature floaters in their arsenal, because it seemed the only way we could get a bucket in the second half. Can't say enough about the glue guy effort of Devin Oliver, his hustle really sets the tone on defense.

Re: 11/24 A-10 Games
Spiders game was odd. It was very close ... and then it was not. Kind of like the Jets and the Patriots the other night.
Lindsay is the straw that stirs the drink. Offensive movement suffered in the second half, players tried to do too much and Ohio took advantage. Turnovers, poor shot selection and poor shooting doomed Richmond at that point. Then the defensive effort wilted. Flyers had all they could handle, but Dilliard and Sanford saved the day. The frosh had an off outing. Oliver is the kind of player every team needs. When recruits come in, fans hope each one will become a star. When it becomes clear a player will never star, you hope they can carve out a role and be productive. Oliver has done exactly that. Rebounding, defense, hustle. Maybe the best "glue" guy in the league. GW looked the best I've seen this year. The frosh PG McDonald was only listed with 6 assists, but it sure looked like he had a dozen. Kid knows how to run an offense and gets better every game. |

Dayton lacked intensity for large stretches. At times they carved the zone and at times they stood around. Manhattan's zone was decent, but too many unforced errors. Attempted way too many blind timing passes around a defender, and threw too many below the waist of a big.
Freshmen looked like freshmen, but Pierre stepped up late and made some plays. They didn't play well, but good enough is good enough. Vee Sanford's float game is on point. Sent from my DROIDX using VerticalSports.Com App
