Re: 11/28 A-10 Games
No heroics for Dayton, 62-61 Weber State. A well deserved loss. Way too many open threes for Weber State in the second half. Too many missed layups. Just a general lack of execution.
Keep playing well, Temple! Cover the spread and I'll feel 5% better about the UD loss. |

Bonnies will be tough this year, especially in Olean.

Re: 11/28 A-10 Games
We've seen these losses from Schmidt teams 1,000 times over the years. It's the big games where we need a great play call or a timely adjustment and they just never happen. Think back to the heartbreaking losses to (just off the top of my head) St. John's, Virginia Tech, NC State, Illinois, Florida State, and now Ohio--it was the same old shit. Gutsy, grind-it-out defensive effort with little-to-no offensive flow. Eric Mosley essentially brought Bona back into this game and when the crunch time hits, plays are drawn up for... Conger to take a fall away three from the wing? How about Ndoye and Simmons playing together? Hell, it took until midway through the 2nd for him to shatter his stubborn rotation to play Kloof and Mosley together. Unreal. I'm tired of reading this book. Keep your moral victories and the "Bona will be tough this year comments". This isn't 2009. I'm sick of this shit. Win the damn game.
Post Script: 0-for-5 this Fall for the Bona staff on the recruiting trail. Losing Johnson and Mosley, who appear to be the only two guys able to create their own shot in the halfcourt set, looms large. We see the same organization on the recruiting trail (we don't have a back up big man this year, by the way...) as we see during timeouts. DAMN IT.

Re: 11/28 A-10 Games
UMass very lucky they aren't 0-5 on the year. In any case they have been a disappointment considering they are one of the teams supposed to challenge for the league title.

Re: 11/28 A-10 Games
The interesting thing about these UMass victories is how they've been able to clamp down and turn over the opponents in the last couple of minutes. If they played 40 minutes like that--heck, even 30--none of those games would be close. Maybe the TN game woulda been close. I dunno what to think.
