Re: Coaching Prospects
I think the bloom is off the rose right now with Wright. He's had a few down years. I would want to see him on the upswing before I'd hire him at SLU. As someone mentioned, Jacobson would be a good get.

Re: Coaching Prospects
I would not be surprsied to see Wright make a move like Tubby Smith did. Smith was getting heat at Kentucky and got out before they could get him. He eventually went to Minnesota which would be considered a step down. He is still gainfully employed as a head coach now in his sixth year there. That may not have been the case had he stayed in Lexington, KY and not won another NCAA championship.

Re: Coaching Prospects
There are some non-public things about Jay Wright that would cause you to change your mind about him.

Re: Coaching Prospects
In today's coaching environment, one year of head coaching is more then enough to succeed or being an assistant that has worked their way up. So, if St. Louis wants a ready made coach, but only has coached for one year: Pat Kelsey is your man. I have a perfect example to back this up: Thad Matta. Matta had been an assistant and then the head coach at Butler for one year before he took over Xavier. Kelsey can do just the same, but I would first see what he does this year.

Re: Coaching Prospects
Just do a twitter search on jay wright right now. Not saying there is any truth to any of it.

Re: Coaching Prospects
Seems completely bogus since not a single reputable journalist is commenting. Any thoughts?

Re: Coaching Prospects
It was on our message board before it spread on Twitter. Apparently, it's well known that he's an adulterer.

Re: Coaching Prospects
Somehow, posts on a message board, twitter and the internet in general, would not be enough for me to totally trash a person's reputation and family life. Think I'll wait for something official.
