Well-deserved national recognition for Christon. Congratulations.

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
Realistically, what are the thoughts on being at Xavier for the next four years? Is he that kind of player? Too early to tell?

Xavier can do no wrong. Great pick up getting this guy. Can't wait to see you guys at Consol again this year.

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
Xavier got a steal in Semaj, pretty easy to tell even during his senior hear in HS that he had potential to be a star. He has the athleticism and speed to be an NBA caliber guard. I think he still needs to work on his outside shot more. However long it takes him to develop a consistent outside shot, is probably how long he will be at Xavier.

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
You recently called me an idiot for not recognizing the sarcasm when I called you out for "congratulating" Jim Crews. Now, you use the word again for a man you once called "Sewage" Christon. Should I assume you are being sarcastic this time as well? Very difficult keeping up with your dizzying intellect.

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
He's the oldest of 10 children. In a very recent conversation that I had with a person Semaj trusts and admires very much, he seriously doubts that Christon will stay the full four years. He has confidence that he will make the right decision for all involved if and when the time comes to make it. This person says that he loves Xavier, his teammates, and Sister Rose. He also said that despite a learning disability that he's dealt with for a number of years, Semaj is doing very well as a student at XU. If he does leave early for a professional career, it will be "to take care of his family," something that is very important to him as the oldest child of his beloved Mom.

To me that would mean every member would have at least 2 trips to the NCAA Tourney and 5 winning seasons during each 10-year cycle. It would also be great for every program to seriously challenge for a league title (either regular season or Tourney) at least once during that same period of time. |

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
Plenty of time to see if he's an early entry type of talent. What impresses me most is his court vision and his advanced-beyond-his-years ability to run an offense and know what his team needs. Yes, he needs to become a much better shooter, but Rajon Rondo (and a younger Jason Kidd) has shown, you don't have to be dead-eye to be a big success in the pros.

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
Congrats to the young man. Perhaps his performance has been better then was anticipated, but I think it was pretty apparent that this guy was going to be a very good player. Did Dayton or UC ever make a run at him or was X on him early before he went to prep school?

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
I think he wanted to play @ home due to the family situation. He already knew all the X guys. When Smith-Rivera took too long to re-commit, he jumped at the chance to go to X. Prep School was very good for his game.

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
I have seen very little of him, but what I have seen has been impressive. He reminds me of Crawford in body build - is that off? Take those talents on to the NBA as soon as you are ready, Semaj. Like, right away.

Re: Semaj Christon debuts in the Top Five freshman list
I think his skill set is close to Crawford's (except for the outside shot), which is probably why he reminds you of him. In my eyes, Crawford had a bit stockier build. Semaj appears long and lean.
