I assume you meant "defense" here. The offense is not pretty. The defense has been very good.

While the Davidson win was nice because it was on the road, I do think the Niners have a ceiling this year that is below the top 3 or so just due to the limited outside shooting. Last game Central Michigan used a really packed-in box-and-1, and it befuddled the Niners until Ingram and Mayfield hit a few outside shots. If Mayfield can get it going, then look out. But if he keeps going cold for so long, better teams will scratch out wins with a defense sitting in the lane and one guy coming out when Ingram's in the game.

The optimistic Niners fans are starting to come back out into the sunlight again. Hopefully they aren't too crushed when the Niners start hitting the meat of the schedule (Miami, FSU, conference play, particularly February's schedule).

Pretty classless act (flipping off crowd) by a St. Joe's player. I thought Catholic schools were supposed to be places of high morals. Embarrassment to St. Joe's and the A-10.

What is it with St. Joe's coaches and players getting into it with others? Martelli has had several incidents (infamous yawning at the GW crowd, verbal argument with SBU woman, and his verbal fight with Packer). Are his players following his lead and taking it even further? Is it a Philly thing like the crowd attack on Santa?

When I was a student at SBU, Martelli once flipped off the Bona student section while storming off the court. This was particularly classy considering a Nelson-led Hawk team had just pulverised a post-scandal Solomon squad. I like the Hawk program, but have never been able to stand Martelli.

So this player was merely emulating Coach Martelli?

How did St. Joe's act when Martelli flipped of the SBU crowd? Will they have different standards for this case?

Miami lost to FGCU without Durand Scott, they've been clicking with him back on the court. I'd say there is a 25% chance Charlotte can win at Miami Friday night. They punked us last year at home, however, we aren't as soft as we were last year either.

I believe many will write us off as frauds for losing this game, only way that makes sense to me is if we are blown out. I'd imagine the spread is around +8 and we'll lose by about 5-8 pts. I'd love to be wrong...

Agree the margin against Ohio was disconcerting for the Spiders, but they didn't have Cedrick Lindsay in that one. He also missed the second half of the Minnesota game which saw the Spiders blow a 7 point lead at the 10 minute mark.

Richmond is still an unknown to me but they definitely have potential to surprise and contend.

They are different team with Lindsay than without him.
