I believe the letter contained a strong insinuation that VCU, Butler, and/or GMU had accepted invitations to join the A-10.

Yes, this plus it mentioned an impending expansion of highly successful programs. It happened while Butler and VCU were denying interest in leaving the Horizon and CAA, respectively. Basically blew their cover.

Went back and talked to my source. I live in NYC (so Mudd take out a map and see what two schools are there and then you will have a 50/50 shot at where my source is from) and he assured me SBU is on the table for exactly the reasons that were stated. Rochester, Buffalo and he also mentioned Ontario Canada. The other favorable for SBU was the amount of students and alums from the metro NY/NJ area that SBU has. It is by no means a lock, but then neither is Dayton at this point.

Wait... you mean Bona isn't strictly on an island in the Southern Tier of NYS? That will shock a few here. Ask the folks in Atlantic City and Nashville how the Bona fan base turns out.

Re: A10 Presidents call meeting

There will be news soon out the Missouri Valley that could open the door for the Horizon League to challenge the A10 for membership.

Creighton is leaving for the new C7 league. But Evansville is also out the door going to the Horizon.

The Horizon could have their sights on LaSalle (along with any other A10 left-outs), Belmont and Oakland.

I am a firm believer that if Muddy would suddenly become a fan of any team other than Dayton, that team would tank immediately. If he would go into a self-induced coma for three years, the Flyers would become all he believes they can be. My guess is he became a Flyer fan during the Carter administration. He is our curse.

Re: A10 Presidents call meeting

I am hearing from a very reliable source that UD is indeed a lock. They are a lock not to be invited to the new coference. I am also hearing that the presidents are meeting to remove teams from the A10 and UD is in their top four for removal. UD will have a rude awakening in the next two weeks. The presidents are tired of their lack of an NCAA tournament resume. The bottom four schools will probably be removed. The Horizon league will proably be UD's destination.

I simply can't believe that if the A10 was going to kick any teams out, that Dayton would be one of them.

I got my dates mixed up and thought yesterday was the apocalypse. I of course became very inebriated to the point of near death. As I clung to my last breath a Ny post landed on my lap and gave me new life. God bless America.

There are no reliable sources at this point. Just about everything is speculation.

Can't tell whether you are sarcastic or stupid or both? Dayton could be by your logic in the top 8 in terms of NCAA runs, and they are not in the bottom 4.

Re: A10 Presidents call meeting

The A10 "14" have to remain united and make decisions on which, if any of the 7 Catholic universities to accept.

If we accepted all of the 7 schools and UMass leaves in a year to pursue Football then we could have two 10 team divisions. If UMass is committed to staying then we could add Creighton in addition to the seven and have a 22 team conference. 11 teams in each division. You play each team in your own division once and 8 in the other division.

Change conference name to the Gigantic Atlantic 22.

St. Bony made the tournament last season. UD hasn't made the tournament since 2009. The presidents feel Bony is on the rise and UD is heading the wrong direction.
