Re: A10 Presidents call meeting
BE7 plus XU, Butler & SLU. Mark it down. It doesn't matter to you who I heard it from, and I wouldn't tell you anyway.
Still too early to say how this plays out for everyone involved - plusses and minuses in every direction. However, I do believe that the new conference (BE?) will generate higher media revenue for its teams. |

Re: A10 Presidents call meeting
Duquesne has a ton of potential. High major facilities, great location, reaffirmed commitment, interesting name (Xavier and gonzaga both have this going for them). No Nba in town either.

Re: A10 Presidents call meeting
I have not posted her for probably 13 years, some of you may remember me from the late 90's - UD Earl. 13 years later, I am now married with 3 kids and have become a UD Red Sweater vest townie.
It seem that many of you have issues with many of the UD posters to this board. Many of you have a lower regard for the Flyers than the Flyer Faithful. We are very proud of our program. It has definitely not had the success that we would want. We strive for the success that Xavier has attained. We think we can get there. There is frustration. But we do believe that we will get there. UD will be invited to the new conference, you can count on that. This is something that has been a long time coming and very much anticipated. Anticipate by all involved with UD. UD had done what it had to do over the last 15 years to position itself for this. I am not going to sit here and list everything, but there has been a lot of heavy lifting to elevate the school and the fans to be in this position. We go to games and we travel. Most of you do not. The Administration has invested in the program. Not all of yours have. You should not sit here and take shots that the Flyers and the Faithful. You should look in the mirror and ask - have you and your school done the heavy lifting to position itself for what is about to occur. The A-10 has been fantastic for the Flyers. I will miss it a bit. But I look so much forward to the future. Go Flyers. We are UD! UD Earl

Re: A10 Presidents call meeting
The A-10 has eleven teams with a resume better that Providence,Depaul and Seton Hall. Still a lot of work to do to determine who joins them. Boblinski is the key. If X doesn't join them, it could become the Atlantic 21.

I still think you focus on the fact that DePaul, Seton Hall, Providence, and possibly St. John's are just not high-caliber BB programs. They are A-10-ish programs at best. If the BE7 don't particpate in backstabbing, then those 4 ride coattails and poach the A-10. If the A-10 could invite Georgetown and possibly Villanova.. and someone was willing to play Brutus, well who knows. But you'll never get 21. And you won't get a merger where a subset of teams are dropped. You could see a WAC-ish mass defection if the new conference is in the 16 team range.

Re: A10 Presidents call meeting
It should have been burned to the ground a long time ago.
