Didn't someone post in the other thread that A10 schoools keep 2/3 of their earned units and the other 1/3 of the unit is divided amongst the other schools? And that the BE does the same?

Well if that is the case this whole discussion was a pointless math exercise. It also means that tournament revenue will be virtually indistinguishable between the two leagues for Xavier and Butler. Butler and Xavier would each earn $75,000 more in the new big east, only ~2% increase in tourney revenue.

Huh? Why or what are you averaging? It is rolling totals over the 6 years previously earned

So 15 units the previous 6 years means the A-10 is going to get a check for $3,750,000 on behalf of Xavier..

So with partial ownership of NCAA units staying with the schools.. say 30%.. $1.2 million in addition to the conference split the extra from the other units...say 50%.. Xavier would be looking at $2 million for the year...

The Big East does a split where football gets most of cash from the contracts and basketball gets the lesser share of the split..

It explains how the non-football Big East schools rely heavily on the FBS Football schools for Basketball revenue as they are the superior basketball programs also.

"Big East schools earned 21 units in the 2012 NCAA Tournament for a total of $5.1 million. Just $1.2 million of those units were earned by the seven non-football members. Had the non-football members divided that money among themselves, they would have received $173,000 each. Instead, each Big East member received approximately $318,000 from tournament revenue."

So what are people expecting at this meeting? If they have any kind of vote are we to assume the no's are leaving? Will we find out who the "invitees" are? What will they be doing or is this just a PR move by Bernie so she can say "I told you so".

That was me. Looks like I was "wrong."

When we added VCU, one of the Rams articles mentioned:
VCU is optimistic about the A-10′s revenue sharing of 75%-25% with the institutions keeping 75%.

Does this mean A team keeps 75% of tournament money and the other 25% is shared or the other way around? Xavier and Butler stand to lose a ton of money if they keep 75% of tourney revenue in the A10, but share everything equally in the new Big East (losing about $1 - $1.5 million a year.) Would the TV deal make up fo it?

I'll give you some advice.. I wouldn't try making up stories about taunting 2 highly successful Xavier grad turned NBA players about never winning at UD (when clearly West won at least twice at UD). I could tell stories about how I've taunted every guy to every play basketball at the University of Dayton since Jimmy Carter was President of the United States due to their absolute inability to win a basketball game against Xavier in Cincinnati. Unfortuantely, like you, I'd be making it up since I haven't even been alive that long!!

The team that earns it gets 75% and the other 25% goes into a pool to be divided up equally.

Butler isn't walking away from jack. They already LEFT the Horizon.

Butler earned the Horizon League $16.0 million out of the $18.25 million they're slated to get (pre-inflation, counting all shares at $250,000) from 2013-2018.
But since the Horizon is "share everything equally" Butler's check was going to total $1.825 million from 2013-2018 from the Horizon, total.

They could make more in the A-10 in that span just by winning a first round game.
