I agree with your basic point though. If it was about religion, where is the invite for St Joes? For Duquesne?

There are already a lot more people in St. Louis that watch ESPN. The good Dayton percentage probably comes from people watching OSU. They are on the main ESPN 6 more times this year.

I think Duquesne is a possibility but my guess is that Nova vetoes any other Philadelphia school. It's no secret that they did that for years in the BE.

It is starting to sound more and more like a 12 team league. It would surprise me if it is anybody but Xavier, Butler, Dayton, St. Louis, and Creighton.

That makes sense, but it also would not surprise me if one of those was left out in favor of an eastern team like Richmond or VCU.

The Northern-12 are leaving the Big East and hoping they take Dayton so we are freed from Muddy's posts.

I think we'll get a few good months of jubilant posts from Muddy if UD gets an invite. Perhaps even with some graphs and charts detailing how UD would be one of the top teams in the new league.

Then when reality strikes, and UD has even more trouble competing in the new league than they did in even the pre Butler and VCU A-10, I suspect we won't hear much from him between December and April.

Marquette might prefer to stick with their traditional Big East brethren over their former MCC/GreatMidwest cousins.

There has been speculation Xavier would try to block Dayton from being part of the new league.

Hard to imagine a school with a long and collaborative history with UD would resort to that. But I guess in this age of everyone-for-himself conference hopping, anything is possible.

Methinks Lenn Robbins needs to fire his "sources".

There's as much chance of Duquense and George Mason in this new league as there is the Chicago Bulls. And, it's become pretty clear from EVERYONE else that Creighton is going to be included (10 or 12)

Not knowing anything about that paper, is the New York Post generally this bad? This guy gets contradicted everytime he chimes in.
