Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
From a Temple perspective right now it's hard to say anyone really deserves all league but I believe we will have 2 at least (Khalif and Scootie) even though I think they both can perform much better than they have so far. Decosey is going to be one of the top freshman in the league but not even close to Semaj. Rahlir is a pretty solid player and may sneak in with a 3rd team/2nd team and should get a defensive award as well.

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
I think Dillard is a lock to be an all-conference player, but after that I don't see anyone else being honored.
Devin Oliver isn't a player who stands out because of his skills, but rather because of the intangibles. In a 15 team conference, his contributions will likely get overlooked - even if he averages 10 and 8. I guess how muc he is "noticed" is dependant on where Dayton finishes in the standings.

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
Tyreek Duren is definite A10 First team member... does whatever the team needs.
Ramon Galloway has played well but has been inconsistent at times.

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
Updating Colter to a potential all league player.
He has been averaging 17.5 points and 6 assists per game the past 4 games. He is the MVP of this team.

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
I don't know if VCU gets many players on the all-conference teams since we're pretty balanced.
I think Treveon Graham probably makes one of the all-conference teams (14.5, 5.5 rpg in 25.8 mpg). Juvonte Reddic really looked like one of the best big men in the league early but has had some underwhelming performances of late so I don't know if he'd make a team right now (13.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.5 spg). Briante Weber will be a lock for all-defense team. He leads the country in steals per 40 minutes (5.83) and leads the Rams with 3.3 per game. Jon Rothstein and Jay Bilas have both called him the best on-the-ball defender in the country.

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
Chaz Williams has certainly freed up a spot for someone else, based on his play so far. He's not even 3rd team material at the moment.

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
I'd hold off on Major too (even as a Niners fan). The team is improved, but has not played a tough schedule at all. He could win it if the Niners finish near the top of the A10, but the Miami blowout should make it clear that is unlikely. Ferry has helped the Dukes exceed expectations so far, but I still think they are likely to finish in the bottom third of the conference and that doesn't win coach of the year.
Stevens should be the frontrunner, with Mack and Smart somewhere behind. Results and competition matter. |

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
Of course it is too early to crown a COY, since an A10 game has yet to be played (unless you count X-Butler).
However, Jim Ferry is the real deal and will terrorize the league (whats left of it) in years to come. I hope the A10 has some other good rebounding teams, otherwise it will be a blood bath on the boards. I'm not surprised Chaz has underperformed. He is an out of control mess at times. Colter will likely outperform him this year. Colter is putting up better scoring and assist numbers than TJ McConnell.

Re: Your Team's Awards so far....
Won't win it, because of Xavier's superstar, but Clayton will be in the discussion for ROTY and well be all freshman team. He's 33 in the nation in fg% and top 10 in offensive rebounding.
PH will be all defense again. Braswell will probably end up 2nd team all conference, especially if we finish strong. I would say Braswell or Henry is our team MVP, Clayton is definitely our newcomer of the year. We better enjoy it, cause who knows what next year will look like. |
