Re: 12/18 A-10 Games
This is awesome. Being in the US for a change, I get to watch Richmond and Kansas from the comfort of my parents' house on a huge television, not on a web feed, and not at 8 in the morning. Go Spiders!

Kansas is just really strong down low with Withey et al. I don't think Richmond is going to be able to shoot well enough from the outside to keep this close. It doesn't help that McLemore is looking unstoppable.

Re: 12/18 A-10 Games
Richmond fans, don't take the score too hard. As the announcers said, the year VCU had their final four run Richmond was beating them 40 - 17 at the half around this time in the season. One blowout half doesn't mean the season is over.

Re: 12/18 A-10 Games
I have seen a lot of Butler and VCU so far this season. I am mighty impressed.
What stands out is the coaching - duh. What I mean is, we all knew Smart and Stevens were both terrific coaches. Yet I still think we underestimated them. You only see just how great they are when you watch them a lot. I look at the talent on each roster and I see "good" teams, not great ones. But VCU and Butler play really hard - harder than most teams - and they are cohesive. Obviously, they play high-level defense, but their ability to find ways to score is also impressive despite a general lack of explosive scorers (BU's Clarke aside). VCU, in my view, has more athleticism and overall talent than Butler. And yet the Bulldogs somehow overcome. Clarke is probably the only Butler player who would get 20 minutes plus at Indiana, but the team still finds a way to win. Indiana arguably has better players at six of the first seven in each team's top rotation, but it didn't matter in the end. It's clear to me now -belatedly - that either of these teams can win the A-10. Right now they are playing better than anyone else and only Temple can really match up in terms of coaching. Smart and Stevens put guys like Kellogg and Giannini to shame. |

Chris Mack's record begs to differ
