Yes, but it's not as if his ratings mean nothing until such date as they become unbiased. The numbers as of today are more reliable than they were last week, those of last week more than the week before and so on. Some teams will experience moderate shifts when the numbers become unbiased but most won't. I trust Pomeroy significantly more than sportswriters weekly "power rankings" in various online publications and, for that matter, national polls.

I think he has them at 14. But it doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. That said, URI just had a big win, and Umass definitely had a better OOC. Even if I'd put GW ahead of both those teams at the moment, you can make an argument about a lot of teams' positioning until they play more games.

Charlotte hasn't played the toughest stretch of its schedule, so #4 seems premature, but they did beat La Salle fairly easily, who beat Butler, who's beaten several other teams in conference. I think it's tough to rank 3-14.

7th in these rankings is more than one might have thought for X.
We will struggle this year...plain and simple. Mack is doing a really good job with limited assets.

But the rankings could leave you scratching your head.
Of our 4 conference wins, 2 are against teams ranked higher than we are (Temple and LaSalle). The team we lost to is ranked higher. And we beat the #1 team already, albeit out of conference.

Not sure why we aren't higher (even though it might give us farther to fall). What more can you do at this point except be tied for 1st place in your conference? The answer is probably to have a better W-L record, and no crappy losses like we've got.
