Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
Come on, Richmond. Tie game, 19.8 left. NBC Sports.

Mason with the ONIONS shot. 3 at the buzzer to beat Richmond. Aw, horsefeathers.

Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
Incorrect. The defender fell back before there was any contact. Even if there were contact the ref at the 3 pt line would not have seen the contact. Wasn't his call to make. There was a ref 8 feet away on the baseline.

Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
Every time I think Jeff Robinson has turned the corner ... then this. Guess there is a good reason he has played sporadically in his career. He is maddeningly inconsistent and not always attentive.
Richmond handled the ball poorly down the stretch and the offense has a hard time functioning late in the game against good defensive pressure. Young team that needs to learn how to close out against solid opposition. SJU, what the heck has happened? A big problem: Kanacevic. His hot-dogging and suspension has cost the Hawks dearly. He's got to stop with the antics and just play, or Martelli should bench him even if it hurts the team. The hot-dogging has hurt the team more than enough. Carl Jones was dreadful today, too. Great win by Temple. Don't know why anyone is counting them out. Quality team with tourney talent. Basketball is a funny game. If Owls don't lose to Canisius they probably don't beat Cuse. Rhody is getting the best coaching in the league of any team whose leader is not named Brad or Shaka. |

SLU takes care of LMU at home.
D was on point, allowing 44.

I thought it was a good call after watching it live and slo-mo on the tube. The guy had his feet set, IMO.

Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
Is that Sandy Hook jersey real? If so, that's great. (sorry just skimmed the thread).
Just wanted to congratulate Temple. I watched as much of that game as I could get in before I had to leave for ours. Great job Owls. Sorry we didn't hold serve for the league. |

Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
Richmond needs an injection of some onions. FT shooting killed em today and lack of leaders and skilled offensive players are killing them generally. I have been way off this season thought UR would have a surplus of shooters but confidence levels seem at a low point. Halfcourt sets are often brutal. Mooney needs to adjust strategies or personnnel or both.
The early UR/Charlotte thread has officially crashed and burned.

Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
Unless something changes in a hurry, we are not a top-10 team in this league. We've beaten no one and lost every game we've played against any team with a hint of talent. Pathetic. I expected a lot more. A lot more.

Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
Somebody has to be in slots 5-10, might as well be the spiders. Niners losing to a mediocre FSU team at home was not a good sign. Really should've won this one, but some bad decisions late in the game, including our 8% 3 point shooter being set up for a 3 at a critical juncture, really cost them. Missed ft's and a ft disparity didn't help (this was a neutral court game at best, definitely not your typical home court advantage).
Looking like another bottom half finish, but the other teams in the middle of the league don't exactly look like world-beaters at the moment. Maybe URI or Duquesne comes up and surprises? I hope the Niners surprise as well, because it's depressing to have yet another down year in this league on our way out of it. |

Re: 12/22 A-10 Games
umass is quietly rounding into form. i think it's a relief to fans to see our patented extended scoring runs coming back. 7-3 with no bad losses has been tough to come by in this league this year. the tough part of our non-conf schedule is over and 10-3 in the noncon is well in sight. we're excited for our boys.
