Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
Quote:
Is Fordham winning the auto-bid in a one-bid Atlantic 10 after the Xavier, Temple, Dayton, Saint Louis, VCU, Butler contingent leaves the conference a success? It might be for Fordham, but that's not really healthy for the league; so who cares if they're successful or not in that regard? Is Fordham a success if they play the weakest OOC schedule possible, go 12-3 OOC, finish eighth at 5-11 in the A-10, make the CBI and we get three NCAA bids? That's a success to me. |

Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
The games are not the issue its the hours before and after the game when thousands are on campus tailgating.

Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
Fordham will be successful in the A-10 in Basketball. There will be several games per season in the Barclay Center and Madison Square Garden in the future and the recruits Fordham has signed are very good. A new on-campus arena is in the capital plan and will be built after the new Lincoln Center Law School and dorm are completed. Plus our team is better than our record - we have been without our best player until recently due to injury and the freshmen are talented and contributing now.

Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
Reality check, despite what has been posted, there are "0", zero, nada, plans in the works for a new on campus arena. Our priorities, given the size of our endowment, are Lincoln Center and Academic (mainly the sciences) development. Will games in MSG or Barclay's help? Well they haven't over the last forty years, I suspect they will us them as a selling point in recruiting some more MAAC level guards.
We are good at excuses; injuries, a bad coaching relationship, an AD who was a lifer, but very poor at just getting it done. As a poster points out I am annoying, and many who speak the truth may are. The question remains, as he posted, can Fordham compete in the A10?, empirical evidence says no ... the first step in solving a problem is recognizing there is a problem. My posts will be less frequent now, for soon we enter conference play and A10 fans will be able to judge, objectively for themselves, if we can compete in this high powered conference... Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
Again, I really don't care if Fordham competes in the A-10. I don't want Fordham getting NCAA bids.
I want them in CBI and CIT, 110-140 of the RPI. I want them to kick the hell out of 12 teams NOT in the A-10 before finishing behind MY TEAM in conference play. |

Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
According to the ESPN announcers it was Ole' Mis winning in a laugh-er
Very sad, not sure how many conference games we can win, but very sure we can't win on the road. Eventually changes; coaching, conference affiliation, or a combination of the aforementioned must happen. We need to do something soon ..... |

Now you are just being a total __________. Insert any and every insult and curse word imaginable. Yes - that's a personal insult. I've only tried to debate you and you just repeat the same old crap. Keep your complaints in house. And debate your points with FACTS!! You find the pdf file that shows a .200 winning percentage for all sports for the past 25 years yet? You know why you didn't - because it didn't exist. Your agenda is anti-basketball and pro football - period. No one cares here. All you do is pile on your own program and now you do it to those that already hate us. To me this is like a parent being critical of his own kid. That's not a bad thing, but if someone else were to do it, I'd smack them in the mouth. Keep your bashing in house, ________!

Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
Questions for not anyone in particular.
Real quick, without looking it up, who is in the FCS championship that is being played right now? Real quick, without looking it up, what channel is it on? One hint on the second question, it is not ESPN b/c they are carrying the BBVA Compass Bowl on that channel. Ask any sports enthusiast and I venture to guess most cannot provide an answer to either question. |

Re: Fordham & the A10 - question
I was jut watching it for a second and forgot. Saw a kid miss an easy FG - one our kicker would have made with ease - then turned it off. I know it isn't a Patriot League team or Delaware and Nova. Then I remembered FOX had soccer on - so no more FCS championship.
