Re: UMass & Tulsa

This reminds me of what happened to the Southwest Conference.

Its sort of crazy if you think about it. Going with the rumors of the day:

1. Temple to Big East (football conference)
2. Charlotte to Conference USA
3. Butler, Xavier, Dayton, Saint Louis to Big East (basketball)
4. Massachusetts to Big East (football)

Thats nuts

Yeah, the difference is, we still have nine teams after that. The SWC had Houston, Rice, TCU and SMU.

Re: UMass & Tulsa

Since the conferences seem to be all about football these days, I look for Tulsa to get the next spot in the revised Big East. They have a very good football program, and with Danny Manning as their new basketball coach, their basketball program looks to be on the right track.

And since the school presidents seem to be calling the shots, you cannot discount the Tulsa president's existing relationship with the presidents of SMU, UH, Tulane, Memphis, East Carolina, and UCF.
