Re: UMass & Tulsa
I think it's been obvious that if the western teams drop out of the nBE, UMass would be one of the few teams available to fill out the conference with BCS football and a decent basketball team. It just remains to be seen if, in fact, the west is gone. Could be the only way we get a game against UConn.

UMass wouldn't be a bad add, but your current stadium situation is definitely a negative. |

But homecoming was the stupidest thing ever - it seriously needs to be on campus ASAP. I can't wait for that...I love how close it is to me now...but I love the excuse to head back to the western part of the state every now and then. I missed that this year. |

Re: UMass & Tulsa
Next season should be the last season that "homecoming" is played at Gillette. UMass will play one or two games per season on campus starting in 2014. The remaining four or five home games will continue to be played at Gillette until the lease runs out near the end of the decade.

We did not oppose them joining Hockey East.

Re: UMass & Tulsa
UConn is the biggest fish left in the pond. But the pond is drying up quickly. I'd expect them to change their stance on Umass. They don't appear to have a seat at the big tables, so filling in the holes in the Big East is their only course right now. And Umass seems like one of their best options.

UConn, as is their normal hypocritical self, will go on about the injustice of the actions of BC blocking them from the ACC and then quickly turn around and take a similar action with another school (such as UMass). |
