Game Threads
I'm going to try to keep up with something new this year for conference games. Look over the ones today. If anyone has any thoughts on what should be added please let me know.

Re: Game Threads
They probably will the day I put them up, but for the games no one seems to have interest in, they will quickly move down the line. Maybe I could put all of the days games on one thread like we had in the OOC, but I thought it would be nice to have a place to discuss each game.

Re: Game Threads
I like the idea. It will be interesting to see what was said on the board when I get home from the game, without having to read about the games I really dont care about. Also a good reference to see what was said about our next opponent.

Re: Game Threads
Haven't been liking the experience of clicking on each game to read about it. Seemed like the old system of one thread for each day's games was more efficient for me, since I do like reading the comments about all the games. Maybe this new idea works for those who only want to read about certain teams.

Re: Game Threads
I like the idea. I would be much more likely to post in game threads that I am watching if I thought there wasn't a 95% likelihood that my post would be buried beneath the usual mess of statistics and bickering from fans of certain teams and it could actually create a dialogue for each game.
The one-thread is nice for a quick roundup of what happened overall, but not conducive to multiple discussions, which I think this board needs to cultivate the fans of each program.

Re: Game Threads
I think it will be good to move back to the consolidated one-thread format for all A10 games on each day.

Re: Game Threads
Separate threads are more likely to bring out the fans of those two teams, particularly fans unlikely to wade into a 10 team multi-game thread to comment on it. The discussion in those bigger threads is sometimes tough to keep up with if you haven't been following it very closely, as the game discussions get intermixed. I also like the idea of separating out the stupid endless bickering to just those threads where those two teams are involved.
I don't mind the extra clicks needed in order to have it better organized and getting more fans involved. But it's not a big deal either way to me. |

Re: Game Threads
how inefficient is reading 5-10 pages of Muddy Waters/MudFlap posts and all the ridiculous backlash that comes with them in a consolidated thread in order to get to the one post buried on page 9 that updates the game you are interested in?
I'm sure that people refrain from posting during games - when you think there would be the most traffic - because they know that there will be no dialogue about their game because a couple teams' fanbases dominate any/all shared threads with their inane back-and-forth? I think this will create more interest in each game.
