Re: Game Thread: #14 Butler @ St. Joseph's (Wednesday 1/9/13)
That should be a terrific game.
Butler is the better team, but the A-10 road factor is well-documented. It should be interesting to see how Butler handles it in their first conference road game. St. Joe's has talent to win but has underachieved and been inconsistent so far this year. This is a must-watch game. Probably the game of the night.

Butler and St. Joes fans, what are the starting line ups going to be and how do you think they match up?

There is a link on the website to listen. Sometimes it works sometimes not.
Look over on the right side of the page http://www.sjuhawks.com/sports/m-bas...kbl-sched.html Hawks are finally gelling and we hope they return to the form they showed the only other time this year they played a ranked team. Some of us feel we would have at least 2 more wins if Jones and Kanosevic had not gotten themselves suspended. Lets see if they have learned anything. Looking for ward to see Rotnei play in person. Have really enjoyed watching him from Hawaii on. I am a bit surprised we are favored |

St Joe will have Galloway, Jones, Wilson, Aiken and Roberts probably. There is a chance Kanisevic starts instead and we go with 3 bigs but i doubt it. I think Butler's backcourt is better and the Hawks frontcourt is better. If the Hawks limit second chance opportunities and make free throws, they have a great chance to win.

Re: Game Thread: #14 Butler @ St. Joseph's (Wednesday 1/9/13)
I think you probably have that reversed. Outside of Clarke, Butler's back court is just serviceable.
Butler's front court has Roosevelt Jones and Kellen Dunham at the 3, Khyle Marshall and Kameron Woods at the 4, and Andrew Smith & Erik Fromm at the 5. It's a little old (it was a preseason deal by Rivals), but they have it has the top front court in the league I would have disagreed at the time, but the way that Smith has come on in particular, I think that's probably right. Related, its far and away the best rebounding team in the A10 (top 2 in both offensive and defensive rebounding percentage). Jones, Smith, and Dunham have played at a level thus far where they'll garner post season commendations |

I think the difference in the game is how well Roosevelt Jones can do. I saw him tune Penn up. We are weak at the 3 .You also have more depth. It should be a great game and I am looking forward to it.

Its now or never for the Hawks. The game is that important. I am in SHOW ME mode. Hawks have to prove they can play at Butler's level and they have to convince me again that I should believe in them.
Should be a fun one on Hawk Hill.
