A matchup Rhody can win due to Williams being out. However, Rhody beats no A10 team if they shoot the way they did in their last game vs Brown.

Or Richmond shoots the way they did against Air Force. No doubt the loss of DWill is a bit hit for UR, but we like the way the retooled offense looked against AF. With our little-enough frontcourt game getting even smaller with Williams out, we look to be raising the tempo and letting our guards do their damage. Here's hoping it works like it did last Wednesday.

W/o Williams look for Richmond to push the ball and to substitute frequently. We started the season this way and then backed off, it may help grow our freshmen in a shorter time.

It could be interesting since URI likes to slow the game down and play half court basketball. Might be one of those games where in 50s is URI's advantage and 65+ is Richmond's advantage.
The keys for URI will be Malone and Malesevic. Munford will get his points, the problem has been the 2nd and 3rd scoring options

Line is 9.5 in favor or Richmond. I'm not sure which way I would go on that game. I am thinking Richmond giving the points.

Unfortunately, I think Jordan Hare is the best big man in this game with Dwill out for my Spiders. I saw URI for a half against Seton Hall earlier this year - and the defensive intensity was night and day from Baron's teams, as Mooney mentioned in a recent interview. It will be interesting to see the Hare vs. Nelson-Ododa match up of freshman big ment. Richmond's ANO had similar hype to Hare coming out of HS (Hare had bigger Rivals ranking) but had a full redshirt year - but Hare came out of the gate fast this year. We really need a frosh big man or two (Terry Allen or ANO) to step up and play well to win this game.

Re: Game Thread: Rhode Island @ Richmond (Wednesday 1/9/13)
Anyone who takes Richmond giving points is crazy. Jekyll/Hide team, never know which will show up from half to half, much less game to game. Clutch FT shooting hasn't been spectacular either, something you need to win by double digits.
Letting loose the shooters and athletes might be a key moment for Mooney's coaching career. Lessening the structure even further might help UR in the long run. Richmond is 8-1 at home this year and came back in the 2nd half vs. Davidson from 25 down (when DWill got hurt early) to tie it late in their only loss, so they're pretty solid at the Robins Center. I'm interested to see what Hurley has in him as a coach, but road games in league play are tough. Most young teams pull their upsets at home.

URI will slow the game down and make you execute on offense while dealing with in your face man to man defense with the occasional zone. URI usually doesn't press but will pick up the point guard in full court man to man

URI not playing too well right now, they are better with Aaman on the floor rather than Hare

38-28 Spiders at half. Spotty Ft shooting kept it from being more. Spiders starters combined for 32 in the first half all five with at least 4 points led by Brothers with 9.
