They had three or 4 good defensive stops where SLU milked to clock then took a bad shot or Umass forced a TO, then they whipped it down the court in 4 seconds for a dumb shot. They were only down 4 WTF was the rush? You work that hard (and long) for a stop, actually get it, then throw up an NBA three or have your 5'7" guy drivng and shooting in the trees...... That is situatinal basketball 101 - DK Failed the test.

Re: Game Thread: UMASS @ St. Louis (Thursday 1/10/13)
Good job Bills. You guys outplayed us all and played a well-rounded game from start to finish. Jett took over the game there. I'm not one for excuses, but a win would have been possible without the flopping fouls on the terrible officiating. Also would've helped to have Morgan. He's in, we win that game. Still not trying to take away from what you guys did.
Also I'm not retracting my previous statement about the MEAC quality big. Sure, Loe had his best game, but I was right that they would be abused down low. There's a reason that that was the game that Lalanne broke out in. Vinson was also on fire too, before the refs played better defense on him than any Billiken could. Also, Remekun certainly looked the part of a MEAC big.

Re: Game Thread: UMASS @ St. Louis (Thursday 1/10/13)
Remekun had 7 points, 9 boards (4 offensive), and a block that led to a transition layup that put SLU up for good. He was only 2-6 from the field, but his misses were good looks in the low post that didn't fall. Nothing to be ashamed of...
also, I'll point out that a MEAC big took out the #3 team in the country last March in arguably the biggest upset in NCAA history (with all due respect to the Spiders)... |

LOL that 'someone's gotta score, MEAC quality' big is playing in the NBA for the Orlando Magic.
It looks like UMass could use some MEAC quality bigs in that case.

I misunderstood the context of your MEAC big label, mistakenly thinking it was some kind of dis when all along you meant it as a compliment.
After all, if they're good enough to take down the likes of #3 Mizzou in the dance, and Sweet 16 lock Umass, they must be pretty good. |

LOL, O'Quinn will be out of the NBA in 2 years max. Had it not been for that game, he wouldn't have even gotten any looks. Not to mention, the Magic are pretty damn near MEAC quality
(he jokes). The point is, someone's gotta get the production. He happened to best the best player on that team, on that day, but he's nowhere near A-10 quality.

You're right, he's at the very least NBA free agent contract quality. He beat out a ton of guys for a contract in summer league.
You likely don't have any bigs on your roster that qualify for that.

We saw what happened. That's all that needs to be said.
