This is from Hawk Hoop Club "Buildnewarena"

Phil Must Go Don Must Go Tear down Hagan- Hagan Arena is not an "Arena" ; It is a Large High School Gym on Steriods, no circular concourse, the least amount of seats are at mid-court - it looks RIDICULOUS, and weak ! Hagan gave what 10-15 million(Thank you- Nice Amount)to have a 35 million upgrade named after him, looks like he made a great deal for himself ! While the rest of us pay $50.00 plus per game, per ticket . That's right over $50.00 per game per ticket, season-ticket holders with "Forced Donation" The Season ticket holder is paying the cost not Hagan. O NCAA wins and Appearance since new building was biuld, we currently only have a 2 year window to get in.

If Hagan has paid all 35 million then he paid the correct amount ! Anything less, he got naming rights on the cheap !

Honestly - having his named attached to the build on the money others are paying is wrong and weak ! Rename it for who is paying for it
"ALUMNI MEMORIAL FIELDHOUSE" - Get the Hagan name off it !

PS Please Ban some of the pathetic groupies/cronies that constantly put up with the loser mentality of the Hawk Hoop Club forum.
Honestly go root for Villanova ! Did Don or Phil say "Hello" to you at the game?" That's all you really care about !

Its been done many times at hawk Hill. I remember the Bo Must Go shirts. We all wore them to the games as students. There is nothing wrong or immoral about change or asking for change. It is part of our intelligence and our standards that were groomed at the very same uiniversity that helped develop those attributes. The student body and the former student body IS the university and always will be. We can make anything happen we set our minds to. Now its time to put the pressure on the University to let go of Phil. Now is the time to be included in the new Catholic league being formed. Now is the time to bring in a new AD. We have to do more than complain. We have to start a movement. What people ultimately fail to accept is in the end, if we decide it to be the case, Don or the University does not decide who is coach or AD. WE DECIDE but we have nullified our own power with our fear and complacency. fear we cant do it. fear of whose feelings will be hurt. Fear we are not good enough. All of these fears must be squashed!

1) We need to fire Phil and bring in a young stud coach

2) We need to get Don to retire immediately

3) We need to be part of the Catholic 7, tear down Hagan and build an arena that is TV friendly so that good programs are willing to do home and aways, so that a better league will be willing to take us (if not by the catholic 7), and so that the talent wants to come here because they know they will be on TV.

Stop and stop now with cries of

A) We just built Hagan, or I like the tradition of the "fieldhouse" ..........tradition is only glorified through winning. Do people talk about the tradition of Fordham basketball? No they dont. But Saint Joes has tradition because it has won a lot over time and has had some tremedous talent. The building is not the tradtion............the winning is what creates glory. The talent is what creates the glory. The fans cheering their heads off is what creates glory and that comes from winning not the Fieldhouse or Hagan. It was a mistake to revamp the fieldhouse and for a long time it KEPT us from getting the real talent, and competing with better programs. Hagan will continue to cheat us from more glory and tradition that conjures up the best memories of the past. Its time to let go of ALL remnants of the fieldhouse and tear it down or replace it with a bigger televsiion friendly arena elsewhere.

B) villanova will block us...........temple got in I dont see why we cant either. villanova can be overcome.

C) Phil is a nice guy

Phil has been compensated well, very well, and should be able to take care of his family for life now. This is bigger and alwyas has been bigger than Phil so stop enabling his inadequacies because you dont want to hurt his feelings. College Sports has outgrown Phil and Don. It is a reality. Its time for both of them to go and go NOW. Stop whining about villanova. Temple will not be part of this new arrangement with the catholic Schools and they can make room for 2 philly schools IF WE GET A NEW ARENA and make a strong push using our Jesuit connections. I dont see why we cant leverage the Jesuit communty especuially with schools like Georgetown to get membership. We can do this.

1) we need someone high up in the univeristy to support this push

2) We need someone representing the alumni and the basketball program

3) We need 1 or 2 big donors willing to pledge 5 to 10 million

4) We need to make a stink about it and demand to sit down with the president and the board.

We need to organize and organize immediately and organize quickly. We can make this happen. We need to start seriously discussing HOW we can put a commitee together to DEMAND Saint Joes make changes. A high profile basketball progaram is in the best interests of this university............NOW is the time. Stop complaining and lets organize. Lets start throwing around ideas, names, numbers, emails..............lets organize now. Ideas? Seriously

Re: This is from Hawk Hoop Club "Buildnewarena"

Villanova had no choice on Temple. Big East rules allowed Temple to be added as a "Football action" where the football schools could vote them in unanimously, and if the basketball schools voted unanimously against it, the commissioner would break the "tie."

Villanova WILL have a choice on Saint Joseph's, and they'll vote no. As will the other 7.

The original post is a joke. An absolute joke if you think you can talk your way into the C7 conference. It just ain't happening bub.

And as far as that being a glorified HS gym? Take a stroll over to 20th and Olney. We'd trade you in a heartbeat.
