Re: Game Thread: Richmond @ #13 Butler (Wednesday 1/16/13)
It's completely different when you have to deal without someone during the game he got hurt in and what you can do once you have had a chance to game plan without him.

Re: Game Thread: Richmond @ #13 Butler (Wednesday 1/16/13)
We saw this with Lehigh and McCollum. We were up 10 at the 5 minute to go mark when he was injured. They outscored us by 6 the rest of the game without him. We game planned to stop him and their set plays with him. Their team played completely different without him on the floor and they damn near beat us.

4-23 in the first 15 minutes for Richmond. I would say that 20 of those were jumpers.
Get to the rack, fellas. You can't shoot straight.

Re: Game Thread: Richmond @ #13 Butler (Wednesday 1/16/13)
Our freshmen show promise...play them more at the expense of the upperclassmen who have shown their ceiling. Brothers just disappears against good competition. Anthony is regressing. Very disappointing season so far. The incredibly bad OOC schedule is masking how poorly this team has played.

No offense to Butler, but with as horribly as we have played tonight, I can't believe that we are still only losing to the 13th ranked team in the country by 13 points.

Re: Game Thread: Richmond @ #13 Butler (Wednesday 1/16/13)
They tend to get complacent when they're up around 20. Brad Stevens sensibilities don't really lend themselves to beating teams by 30.
But to shoot that poorly and still never really sweat is nice. 12th straight since last losing November 26. On to Gonzaga. |

We are not a very good basketball team. Have to wonder why we seem to be in a multi year rebuild with no major issues coming after the Sweet 16 run. Also have to wonder if Harper and KA were lightening in a bottle type recruits for Mooney - we just seem out outschemed and outhustled on every game against decent competition. |
