Bobinski to Georgia Tech?
Word on the street is that Xavier's AD Mike Bobinski will be named Georgia Tech's AD today. Hopefully his first duty on the job is firing Gregory.
I hope Xavier takes a serious look at former Xavier employee and current Duquesne AD Greg Amodio. And before anyone who thinks they are witty chimes in with "this could hurt there chances at the new conference", the decisions on that are at the President's of the Universities level at this point. This won't affect that at all. |

Re: Bobinski to Georgia Tech?
Just happened to go to the AJC website to check the local news and and saw the banner that Bobinski is the new Tech AD. Bummer for Xavier. IMO, he's one of the top ADs in the country.

Re: Bobinski to Georgia Tech?
Mack's "availability" to Georgia Tech would be almost entirely decided by who Xavier hires as their new AD. This is also assuming Bobinski fires Gregory. That's a lot that would have to go a certain way. Highly unlikely.
Will Xavier keep it "in the family" and go after Amodio at Duquesne? That would seem to be the safest hire if they don't promote from within.

Re: Bobinski to Georgia Tech?
Bobinski has obviously done a good job. But I don't think you can say a is one of the top guys in the country at his profession when he is not presiding over a "big pond" school. The difference in the scope of an AD job at a big time football school and Xavier is huge. Not quite apples and oranges....but close.

Re: Bobinski to Georgia Tech?
Too bad for X, but considering they will be off to the C7, not too bad.
