Re: Game Thread: Duquesne @ UMASS (Thursday 1/17/13)
The Dukes have matched up well with Umass recently for whatever reason and always play them tough - plus I think they have a cool Logo....
Without Morgan, foul trouble will kill them, as long as that stays in check and Putney wakes up, they should be OK tonight.

Re: Game Thread: Duquesne @ UMASS (Thursday 1/17/13)
If I was forced to pick, I'd say UMass covers.
My formula goes a little like this. Fordham vs. Duquesne = +7 Fordham Fordham vs. UMass = +4 UMass + 4 more for road factor 7+4+4 = 15 ![]() In all seriousness, if UMass bigs can assert themselves and Davis can continue to play as he did against Fordham, UMass by 12. |

Re: Game Thread: Duquesne @ UMASS (Thursday 1/17/13)
Will Umass run a "highlights" video that makes them look like they could have almost won the game even if they get outscored by 15? Yes, unless the Duquesne defense finds a way to keep UMass scoreless, in which case, the video editor and his two interns will get a night off.

Re: Game Thread: Duquesne @ UMASS (Thursday 1/17/13)
Goflyers must watch UMass highlights on umassathletics.com. Not sure why he'd expect the highlights NOT to show highlights of UMass, though. So, Goflyers, yes - if UMass loses I expect the highlights of UMass to make it look like UMass played well and could have won the game.

Sure, 87, most of the time you'd be correct. But this is the vaunted Dayton Flyers we're talking about here. I can't believe the UMass site didn't showcase the Dayton Flyers. I blame it on those student interns who put those things together, they obviously don't realize how good next years recruiting class is going to be.

Re: Game Thread: Duquesne @ UMASS (Thursday 1/17/13)
Doesn't every team do that? The Niners do. It's frustrating for road games when the game isn't televised, as you can't get highlights for your own team. But then again, it makes sense because most home fans probably do not want to watch highlights of another team beating their team down.
There ought to be a way to for the visiting team to get the video so they can make their own highlight video. Maybe there is and Charlotte just chooses not to? |

Re: Game Thread: Duquesne @ UMASS (Thursday 1/17/13)
I was going to root for the Dukes tonight until I started to read this thread. Apparently, UMass's only competition is themselves.
Go Dukes!
