Maybe we should bring San Francisco into the conference just so their older delusional fans can play the "2 titles" card.

I guess it's official when Lasalle-Explorers.com has the game bio of the 3 officials up.
In the meantime, don't get too down on La Salle. I'm sure they can redeem some fantastic prizes at Dave and Buster's with their NIT credits they brought to the conference. |

Re: Game Thread: La Salle @ Xavier (Saturday 1/19/13)
So what's the deal with Dr. Giannini? I was at the game (although I had to leave at the 10 minute mark of the second half to take my son to his soccer game). I missed his technical. I'm not trying to comment on the officiating, but I have to say, from the stands....the guy looks like a real blowhard. I know this is big time sports and all, but he was pretty much non-stop whining, foot stamping, gesticulating....whatever. Dude is going to have a coronary....and soon! It wasn't just directed at the refs either. Players were just as much in his warpath. What's the fan base think of the guy? I know, this is just one game (but I'm pretty sure I felt this way a year or two ago when I saw him live, as well), but I just didn't get a good impression at all. I'm really not trying to criticize as much as I'm wondering what people who see a lot of him think.

Not all LaSalle fans are delusional though. The explorers flat out got beat. Xavier had a sound defensive strategy that gave the LaSalle offense fits. Dr. G made no halftime adjustments poor shooting and poor coaching against a good team and you are going to loose more often than not.

Re: Game Thread: La Salle @ Xavier (Saturday 1/19/13)
La Salle played like garbage and no one on the team was making their shots. The team shot .400 for crying out loud, not to mention 63% from the stripe. though it was a poorly officiated game, La Salle simply didn't show up in the second half which has been an unfortunate theme with giannini's teams in close games. Thought things would change this year after the nova ot win and buzzer beater.
I am also surprised that no one is holding Xavier to their faults. 15 for 26 on free throws? 17 fouls with the refs on there side? an 11-6 record so far. I think we will learn more next week against a strong charlotte team for the muskie's and butler team for the explorer's. Both of these teams need to tighten it up if they want a bid. |
