HUGE game for Richmond, very tough stretch of games for the Spiders.

I think a lot of people see you as a paper tiger now. An excellent defense, struggling offense and a SOS of 245. You've won the games which is great but haven't really beaten anyone of note other than a 10-7 Davidson squad and a 10-7 Northeastern. That said the 49ers are taking care of business and until they stop doing so nobody can say a word. If you win tomorrow it guarantees a winning season which is obviously a big step in the right direction under the current regime.

Good point. Win and some's perception will change. Lose and the stigma will stick around for the season.

Forget respect, I'm just hoping for a win.

Indeed you did and I guess that would be your best win? Its hard to justify how good you are when your SOS is in the mid 200's.

Agreed, I don't think we are a top 4 team in conference, need to see how we compete in February before drawing too many conclusions. We were selected from 10th-12th in preseason, I think we're on the right track to better those choices unless we completely tank.

Our defense is pretty damn good, if we can get Braswell on track offensively, who knows what we could do.

A number of posters on here were picking Charlotte 15th! Still could happen, but looks pretty unlikely at this point. I wouldn't rule out a finish 10-12 yet though, as the schedule picks up considerably.

I imagine the Niners are underdogs in this game with it at Richmond.

Charlotte scheduled OOC brilliantly for everyone in the A10 except for, maybe, Charlotte. Every A10 team will get a RPI benefit from those cupcake wins. Is Charlotte for real? Well, I don't see how they are any less for real than UMass or La Salle. I'm not convinced losing at Richmond means they're not for real, either. There are only three teams that proved themselves tournament caliber in the OOC: Butler, VCU and Temple. Charlotte's game against Butler in Charlotte is a real barometer for me.

If Charlotte is a tourney team, they should not lose this game. Richmond got out rebounded by 33 at Butler and Braswell must be licking his chops. These are games you should win if you expect to be in the tournament.

That game is at Butler, so you're picking a pretty tough barometer. I guess you could look to see if they get completely outclassed, but a loss would not be unexpected even for most tournament teams. Charlotte does play VCU and one of the two games against Temple at home.

I agree that if Charlotte is going to be a tournament team this year, they probably should win this one. But I'm dubious that the Niners are a tournament team. I think they're a year or two away still.

Braswell gets some rebounds, but the guy that is more likely to kill you on the boards is freshman Willie Clayton, who get a bunch of points off of offensive rebounds. He is a high-motor guy, always active.
